Always been like that in the past but I feel this time it's different. The battering they got of Bayern is a real watershed moment for them and I think Messi knows it and maybe he does what to ply his trade with a different club before he retiresI give it a week before he signs a new, improved contract there.

It’s not about a contract this time. If he gets one he’s done well! This is about getting rid of the board. Bullying them out.I give it a week before he signs a new, improved contract there.

No.That team was nothing like Pep’s Barcelona though, was it? Two orthodox wingers, a proper destroyer in midfield, a traditional centreforward. It’s Pep’s attempts since to make it more Barca circa 2010 - with inverting forwards and a slow Busquets-lite midfield anchor - that has seen us decline from that peak.
If we sign Messi, KDB should go - the team has to be built around him now, not some mercenary dwarf who sees us as nothing more as a well-paying circus. Give De Bruyne the captaincy, legs around him in midfield, and a proper goal machine ahead of him to maximise his assist potential; he’s earned it.

Would literally be a dream but here’s why there is zero chance of Messi to city ever happening.
City have a clear wage structure they won’t surpass which is why Sane left. Not a chance we pay Messi half a million a week or more which is what it would take. We do that and then KDB wants the same etc etc.
