I don't think they are. It's a bit like the Sneijder to United thing in being more media suggested than real. Their ex-owner used to spout on about how they were going to sign Messi one day and their current owners are highly ambitious, so it's a lot of 2+2 makes 5 stuff over there.

When you say they'd fund it, do you mean they'd have renegotiated their sponsorship upwards significantly, or in another way?
