Said it a few times before i’m convinced Gundogan has dirt on Pep which may explain why he’s normally the first player on the team sheet probably before Eddie.
Whenever you've said it before did you do so whilst sticking pencils in your ears and shouting wibble?

Messi will pay for his own wages.

The club already spoke to commercial partners to see how much extra they'd pay with Messi at the club in 2016, and there'd likely be renegotiations with a lot of them, exactly as Juventus renegotiated their deals with Adidas and Jeep when Ronaldo joined.

Then there's the next shirt sponsor. Shopping about the chance to have your brand on Messi's chest every week, and have him in you advertising is basically writing a blank cheque, IMO we'd be looking at rates near United's £75m, Real's €80m a year.

The other players aren't stupid. They will see these deals being done within months of Messi arriving and they'll know that's why he'll take home £80m a year all in. They will see the 10s of thousands of Messi shirts on kids backs all over the world.

That's before they even step on the training pitch with him, and realise how much better he is than them. Some of the greatest players of the last 20 years - Aguero, Iniesta, Xavi, Henry, Ronaldinho - they all say he's on a different level to every footballer they've ever seen or played with before. They know why he gets paid the amount he does.

Barca's wage problems came with Neymar. He had to get paid because of his commercial pull and how much they competed for his signature, but then Suarez wanted to be near him, then Griezmann, then they killed their wage structure.
Absolutely bang on this. When you go on the stadium tour at Barcelona everything is engineered around Messi. He makes that club so much money. There's kids from all over the world who are wearing Messi tops. Nobody cares about Suarez or Dembele who they bought for big money. It's Messi. I don't do players names on the back, but if he came here I'd probably go to the City Store and buy a shirt with his name on the back.

If Messi leaves the club it will be a catastrophic disaster for them in terms of their finances and their profile. They're already loaning 800 million pounds and that's without the money Messi brings into the club. The club is in a real mess!

The Man is a walking Cash point. Whatever he earns he will pay for that himself from whatever he brings into the club from shirt sales and sponsorship deals. Just to watch the little genius at the Etihad would be amazing.

I'd even bet for Aguero's best friend to come here he would leave the number 10 shirt free for Messi, and take the 16 back off Rodri. I'm sure Rodri won't mind, he seems like a decent lad.

I'm a little curious what the people who are for this signing think we should do with Agüero if Messi comes.
Should we take the number 10 from his back? Or should we sell him? I think Kun deserves at least one more season with us, until his contract expires next summer. After that let him choose his next club. He deserves it.
Do you think Messi would be comfortable being responsible for pushing one of his best (and maybe only) football friends out of the club?

It was mentioned in an earlier post that if Messi came Aguero would himself offer up the number 10 shirt out of sheer affection.

I don't think Aguero's place would be threatened by Messi. I think the centre-forward position is the one spot Messi wouldn't start in if by some miracle he signs, except if a false 9 was specifically called for.

Agüero has earned the number 10. He's been with us since 2011. He's our all-time top goalscorer, he's the foreigner with most goals in the Premier League, as well as the player with the most hat-tricks. He's a legend. It makes no sense for him to give up his shirt for Messi or anyone, we'd be putting him in a very unfair position where he'd feel obliged to give up his number.

Although I get your point and agree with it, what I said is that it was not suggested that Aguero is made to give up the shirt. The idea was Aguero loves Messi so much he'd probably offer the shirt up without being asked.

But I genuinely doubt if Messi signs he's going to force his best bud Aguero to change shirt number.
