Very few 'elite' players start and finish their careers at one club. From the club's view-point a player has a peak selling price after which his value drops and it could be that Messi has already passed that point. Add to that the tax regime in Spain, the new kid on the block that is Neymar, and the situation is totally different to a couple of seasons ago.
If it does happen, and it could imo, just hope it doesn't involve Kun going the other way.

Nah they've both said they want to play together, martino likes big strikers though, could involve a player swap (all hypothetically of course)

Why would Sergio want to leave if Messi was coming? Surely we are now in a position that we can turn down any offer for our players if the said player wants to stay? And Messi arriving would surely cement Sergio's future at our club.

If he wants to go, and we are getting Messi, then off you go Serg lad. Thanks for the great memories. We will all love you forever but we are not going to miss out on this one.

I know we want to be a properly run club and self sustainable whilst bringing in healthy investment but why do we give a stuff about financial fair play if PSG don't ? How have they managed to present that deal with a straight face ?

With regards to messi of course, not trying to stray off topic as I believe finances are relevant

UEFA FFP will fail the difference is the premier with Gills blessing and pushing are installing FFP in the premier!

Surely they won't be able to enforce that, it would be restriction of trade if UEFA's FFP regs are ditched, it would put English football/clubs at a huge disadvantage versus the other top leagues in Europe.

Don't know but there was a vote from clubs in the premier and got voted for, we won't know if they can get away with it till someone challenges it in the future..

On the back of Ferran Soriano's book 'GOAL - The Ball Doesn't Go In The Net By Chance' is the following quote:-

"An excellent book."
- Lionel Messi, FC Barcelona & Argentina
It's no burning bush but its a start.
When a cabal elder ventures from their cave and speaks we should all listen very carefuly, the secrets hidden behind the Isco stone are many and wondrous.

Hahahahaha. Now now Johnny, you calling anyone an elder has certainly made the needle on my irony-meter jump!

When are the rags going to make an offer and withdraw it?
they offered 10m, but are also believed to be willing to accept an offer of messi+25m for Anderson ;)

The only chance Barca could sign Aguero is if they lose either Neymar or Messi. As Ibrahimovic found out there is only one star.
