I seriously doubt 2 things.

1 that messi would let an announcement like this come out in this way, via random Twitter claims. 20 years at barca, an open letter to the fans at the very least, in the first instance, after agreeing with the board behind closed doors.

2 that this rumoured clause where he can just walk exists. Absolute bonkers, if barca ever agreed to that. Effecticely maje him the highest paid player, with zero security cover. my mind would be blown at such stupidity.

I would just say as well that this is the only point in Messi’s career when this can’t possibly just be over money. Barcelona are in shambles and need a 5 year rebuild - he needs to go to a team ready to win now or he could end his career winning jackshit for the final 2 or 3 years.
