Read a sid Lowe pieces on Messi and barca and how screwed up it is that their greatest players has communicated thru fax he wants to leave. Great read

But here I am thinking, screw them for low balling us with a 10m euro offer for Garcia

And we get Messi on a free! ( hopefully)

Another long day I guess of news bites

Funny how the 'little ol City that nobody cares' is about the do the biggest transfer in the history of football. The fans of Utd Assna Chels Dippers who thought Pogba, Ozil, Hazard, Salah had bigger clout than any of our players are shivering. We are competing in a different stratosphere now, Messi is bigger than all of their clubs combined. 10M tweets and trending in 60 countries for just hinting he is leaving, imagine if we actually get it done.

EXPIRING AGREEMENTS (CONTRACTS) AND NEW AGREEMENTS
FIFA say that while dates are written in contracts (usually July 1 to June 30) it is recognised that those dates are there to reflect a season. They state that this is 'the true intention of all parties' when the contracts are drawn up.

FIFA's proposal is: Expiring contracts should be extended until the new date of the end of the season. New contracts should be pushed back to the new start date of the new season.

Don’t know if these proposals required agreement from individual clubs or agreement is implied by membership of football associations or if indeed FIFA have any jurisdiction over contracts.

I think if it went to court, aor an arbitrator, they would side with messi. Irrespective of the wording, they would look at the intent in the spirit of the clause and what it is there for, in an unforseen global circumstance.

i.e the clause is there to let messi leave at the end of the season, and to give barca time (the transfee window) to deal with it. given the season has just ended there, and the window is open til October, no judge would see Barcelona as disproportionately affected by the agreed clause being activated beyond the original date. Whereas enforcing the original date would completely screw over messi, making the move the clause is there to enable, impossible.

In my opinion. Based on nothing but logic.

Pretty much as I see it. This Messi want Barcelona to get money for him is nonsense I reckon
