The Messi of 33 simply can't score the goals that he scored as a 19 year old when he just raced past players. You have to acknowledge that. He is still a fantastic player though. See his goals and assists record from last season. He was once super human, but now he is an outstanding footballer who will add a great deal to City's attacking play.

Dont get it, saying his chance of saying he wanted to leave was the end of may! Had he said right im off, not a chance theyd let him as they were still in the champions league, season extended due to the pandemic, so hes roghty, i fuck off now, simple lol

Have a look at Griezmann's record.

Barca are shite.

Messi, 31 goals in 44 games in a shite team.

Griezmann 48 games 15 goals. Much worse than in Madrid.

He will get us 30 goals next season.

If everything goes through him - but he is far too expensive and will be bad for moral. E.g. Taking penalties that he often misses.

If he was a £150k for 2 year deal I would be all for it, but he will be getting 10 x that and it isn't worth it.

He's not moving the ball quite as fast, but if you compare his earlier videos to now, he has great big open spaces to run though in the earlier days, now he is running at a solid wall of players most of the time.

But he still does it. He will get an even more solid wall here, but provided he is willing to pass a little bit more, he will take half the team out.

Also, unlike our beloved DS, he will shoot, first time, a lot.

I think I’ll let Khaldoon sort that out. Messi is a one man marketing corporation, and still a wonderful footballer. That is why he is worth it.. honestly we wouldn’t bother if he wasn’t.

He'll be even better if everything doesn't go through him imo.

He's a better finisher than anyone at our club, before we even start on his other skills. He shoots, first time, from the edge of the box & usually hits near the top corner.

Imo, the less 'superstar' Messi & the more team player Messi we get, the better he will be.

But, he'll score 30 goals, anyhow.

Play more but yet scores 40% less goals, hence in decline.
Well he actually played 15 or so fewer games overall. But there was a drop in the number of goals.

However his assist rate was his best ever last season. I guess that means you can spin it and say he's on the up and we're set to sign a player entering his prime.
