With their financial backing it won't be a problem especially as I think FFP will be deferred for another 12 months because of Covid.
I also think Mbappe leaving isn't too far away and we know that ROYAL (!!!) Madrid will find the cash to fund that purchase.

if it was on pure logic, i would say what has gone on to date, and the timing of it, could only suggest he is trying to avoid a January daily circus over speculation and rumours of him agreeing a pre contract with someone, particularly with the elections so far away. So to me that would be some form of reiterating he wants to leave at the end of the season, can and might speak to other clubs in jan, but will still give his all do right by the club and say his goodbyes when the time is right. As an extremity of that, in theory coild even suggest that the new board think of letting him leave in january if it is best for all. Guess that would show that he really did actually want to leave in the summer.

But, precedent trumps logic i think, so probably some sort of measured response on transition at the club, see what the next chapter is etc, wait to see who is elected, weigh up options thereafter and so on and so on. Which i'd say almost certainly ends with him staying at Barcelona beyond his contract. which would neither surprise nor disappoint me.

What Would disappoint me, is using this as a platform to be manipulative, set out his stall and hint at his demands that any candidate would need to offer to keep him, or heck even try influence the election process towards someone he favours.
