I disagree with none, he's the greatest of all time. But Rome fell and we're far more in need of a left back and a holding mid.
ooops apoligies.

Potentially signing messi wont interfere with other trasnfer plans - this was said all last summer.

I agree we also need a left back (though Cancello's performances mean he is in option there (though he is better on the right side).

Holding mid - i dont think Pep sees it that way...We have Rodri for that and on his own he cant be Fern but the last few months have shown that if you get the balance of the team right then he is good enough. With the news about Ferna being offered a coaching role maybe we will make him a player coach?

Fern can do what he wants but we're short a player there, left back the same.

weve been short of a left back for at least 4 years and we seem to be managing.

I thikn I saw on here th other day that the rumour is we will trigger the release clause of the lad at Villa who was with us but coudnt get a work permit.

And again it was said on here numerous times that getting messi wont interfere with getting other targets/requirements the team/squad

We're surviving not managing

3 titles with no left back would suggest more than surviving and again you seem to be ignoring the fact that even if ew do get messi, it WONT interfere with our other transfer plans
I'm not ignoring it, but we need a left back.

and signing messi wont mean w dont get one so your post about being in more need of a left back doesnt fit as to a reason you dont want him

so the only reason you have at the moment for not wanting the greatest player of all time is his age

Left back first, holding mid next, then we'll sign messi.

or all in the same trasnfer window perhaps?.....doesnt it really matter what order they come in does it!

And again...the lad at Villa is rumoured to be coming back to us as we have first refusal/or a buy out clause we can trigger (or something like that)

Replacing Aguero is the biggest task

Yeah that's the first one, then holding mid as Oleks is decent tbf. Would love a proper left back though.

Why holding mid is a priority ? Rodri is good enough and we have Gundogan as backup there. Left-back we have Zinchenko, Mendy and even Ake and Laporte can play there.

The only signing that is needed is an Aguero replacement, preferably Haaland. Messi is a bonus and not a necessity.

Reasons to sign him:

1. Messi on the decline is miles better than David Silva was at his peak.
2. One of the best finishers in the history of football. With the chances we create and miss this would be of great need.
3. Brilliant left footed set pieces.
4. His name will help attract big name signings to the club. “Hey Haaland, how do you feel about playing with Messi next season?”
5. All our sponsorships will increase as a result of his association with our football club.
6. Our fan base would increase worldwide as a result of his association with our football club.
7. Fans put off attending games due to the virus getting them out of the habit will instead be hot wheeling back to the stadium.
8. He’s still one of the best players in the world even at 33.
9. Teams will be shit scared of us and we’ll be the biggest draw in football for opposition fans.
10. Our standing as a club will be bigger than ever and more people than ever will want to come to our games.

11. General piss boiling.

like groundhog day on here sometimes

Not at all, as I said, I would love to see him in Blue, I have simply expressed concerns. Whilst the GOAT, which I accept, I dont know if he still can perform at previous levels. Even the GOAT hits a downward curve at some time ?? The truth is I dont know and leave it to people who know better than myself at the club. Thank heavens we didnt sign Sanchez, but only a decision made in retrospect. He could still be wearing a Blue shirt as we nearly signed him.Pleased the Rags lost massively rather than us. Just dont want the same to happen to City.
I think Sanchez would have done ok at City under Pep. His downturn came because he chose the vermin who didn’t know how to coach him or use him properly.
