Lionel Messi

I think some of you have got the wrong end of the stick here. I simply believe that the Prem is by far the strongest and most physically demanding league in the world and not all players are equiped to succeed in it, nor are all good players necessarily suited for our system.

Okay, I admit I am using exaggeration to help make a point as well as to be slightly amusing, but my point remains, and I believe it is a valid one.

why do you have such a condascending name then?

C.Ronaldo - "The God of football sent me to this planet to teach people how to play and showcase my talent".

Messi, when asked for his thoughts on the statement, said "I don't remember sending anyone"

It's a name I've used elsewhere after being mocked for playing Europa league. I thought i'd spin it round and use it as a screen name, topsy-turvy the motherfucker back at them.

Wasn't intended to be condescending. Simply a joke at our detractors expense.

Tevez is better than Messi.

Tevez does it in the Prem. Messi is in poncey soft tacklng, Vauxhall Conference defending La Liga. I'd like to see Messi go to Stoke on a cold, windy and rainy Wednesday evening and do what he does in the basking Catalan sunshine. Wouldn't happen.

As for the people talking about us signing Messi, do we really want/need him?

Our team is set up perfectly with 3 defensive midfielders in order to nick goals and keep clean sheets. Messi would not fit this system, he'd be more of a hindrance than a help.

Messi more a hindrance than a help? Oh my days, give me some of what you've been smoking.

I'm really not happy with these unfounded allegations. Is that how it works around here, all opinions are welcome unless they're not the same as the majority's?

All opinions are welcome......... Unless its a rag trying to take the piss.

Taking the piss by saying that a player used in a system where two midfielders and three attackers play with the freedom and fluidity to change positions and roles at will (that's Messi, by the way) wouldn't be great in a system where we play 3 defensive midfielders, one striker and two wide men with no real freedom?

So what do we do, play him centre forward on his own? He can't drop back to collect the ball then, because we need a target up front. Stick him out on either wing to get up and down the line and get crosses in? That's not his game at all.

He comes looking for the ball all over the pitch, he plays where he wants and he's effective at in (in La Liga). Put him in our team which has a fairly rigid formation and we start losing shape and either have no width or no targte up front.

If you watched the last few games we've been playing 4-4-2.
