He is not talking about clubs doing individual deals, he is talking about how many people tune in to watch certain teams, especially the overseas fan. He reckons the Scouse Scum and Arse should get more money from the current pot because they attact more fans. In is a little bit like when the same clubs insisted that home clubs kept all the gate money, it keeps the rich rich. They dont have to win anything and yet they still get more money, typical scouse mentality that !!

That's how a gap opened in the first place. It was pretty well a level playing field before then (unless you had an owner who was a member of the Moores family of course) but the ending of the gate money sharing arrangement ended that and saw the bigger clubs start to pull away.
