I wonder if Liverpool Football club will ever apologise for those deaths?

Really? You believe it was not Liverpool fans but Chelsea fans who caused the death of 39 people at Heysel. (Maybe you are being ironic?)

It is odd, that as a society, we do not commemorate this like we do Hillsborough or indeed other football tragedies. Surely those 39 people deserve the same respect?

If not more respect as these 39 lost their lives through being on the receiving end of outright hatred fuelled violence and not due to incompetence.

Lol he almost clarkied you. It's pretty normal for Liverpool fans to blame Chelsea fans for Heysel , just like pool fans saying some of their fans went to rentboys in the 70s or 80s. I guess with Chelsea siding with Rangers and Liverpool with Celtic added a little more fuel to it too and many Chelsea fans waving fivers at Liverpool fans during Maggies reign.

Heysel and Bradford don't seem to get much media attention unfortunately

Decent season for us, the target was always top four (4th being realistic) and for once we actually achieved what we set out to. We didn't overshoot (which I'm sure no Liverpool would mind) and we didn't undershoot. We got exactly what we expected.

I guess the only sour taste is that we did look like we were going to overshoot our target around December time, so to finish 4th after being 2nd/3rd for a while is a bit annoying.

So much depends on us spending right this window, but to be honest even if we do I can't see us buying enough to be able to juggle the CL as well as the premier league. For that reason the target next season should also be 4th.

We need to 'do an Arsenal' for a couple years me thinks.

Liverpool are a bit damned at the moment. Continue to plod along as they are and there's some much needed stability. Any sort of success and the owners will look to cash in and sell. Liverpool need slightly more committed owners and someone prepared to bankroll them to the next level - present owners just borrow and saddle the club with a growing debt. It's all relative but Liverpool are in a fight to hang in there with Chelsea, the Rags, Arsenal, Spurs and us. They will need to match Klopp's ambition in the next couple of years.

Agreed, we're gonna need some investment to keep up and I'm undecided on whether or no our current owners can provide that.

We'll see what happens this window. But the premier league is getting increasingly competitive, with more and more funds required to compete.

Dominic Solanke looks like your first signing and for just £3m. That could turn out to be the bargain of the century, cos he was sensationally good a couple of years ago against us at U18 level. Tall, quick and plays with his head up. I would expect Sturridge to be shown the door as a consequence
