There will have been Liverpool captains with less footballing ability than Henderson. People (quite frequently Liverpool fans themselves) often forget how ordinary Liverpool were as a club for much of their...errrr...history. Certainly they were utterly shite for most of the 1950's.
That settles it then.
As i thought.
Jordan Henderson is the worst Liverpool captain in living memory.

In the early 1990`s there was Steve Nicol, Ronnie Whelan and Mark Wright. I can barely recall Wright.
think Nicol did ok in a talented team.Whelan i imagine is looked upon as an inspirational leader, weighed in with a good quota of important goals and was famous for lung- busting runs from central
midfield-similar to henderson i suppose, but i recall whelan having a bit of class about him and being a star player for the republic of ireland.
Dont recall Wright as club captain, say for a season, but i may be wrong, and can,t be arsed to look. top player at Derby, i cant recall how efficent he was at Liverpool, so cant really comment.

still think Henderson is prime candidate for the worse liverpool captain in living memory.
And that the new stand could still be named after him,cos thats crap too.

Not quite sure 'eclipsed' is the right word! You're slipping, my friend :-)
Eclipsed will do for me in this context," Deprive someone or something of significance" and I think the pass down played the tremendous goal. A day that will live long in the memory and after watching so much dross down the years there is plenty of space still to be filled.

Henderson is still about, so it's easier to remember how shite he is.
