I'm sure it's been mentioned but Sam Lee saying Pep has been saying in private that he will rest players for the derby to prioritise the Liverpool matches.
I have no issue with that. Frankly if it means we dump the scousers out, he can play 11 kids in the derby as far as I'm concerned.

I read some pundit saying 4-3 flattered us and on the day Liverpool battered us, it might have been Shearer. This is total bollocks. We equalised and were the better team until our mad ten minutes, which all started with Stones dithering and being fouled.

If we keep our concentration this time and mark Salah out of the game we should at least get a draw.

Ederson

Otamendi
Kompany
Laporte

Walker
De Bruyne
Fernandinho
Silva
Sané

Jesus
Bernardo

Don’t let them have the ball for the first 10 minutes, weather the early storm, and grind them down much like we did last time, but without the mad 10 minutes!
Pep should have a word with the ref about not being influenced by the Anfield horde, as they will surely use every dirty trick in the book to get to the ref.
I’m sure Pep has, and will be, analysing ways to nullify Liverpool, and making sure we don’t have another mad 10 minutes

Agree but i would throw in being cunning as well, draw the fouls and get them booked. That will make them think twice about pressing so hard. Do as Barca, Real and Bayern would in their games

Felix Brych is the referee for this one. German ref. Looks like a ref that heavily favours home teams based on his stats.

He was the ref that gave a soft penalty to Napoli in the group stages to get them back in it at 2.2

Need to score at theirs, not bothered about the 'result' as long as we put in a good performance, which we will.

And we already won the Premier emphatically, breaking so many records it's a record itself, next seasons improvements to come, utd inevitable meltdown to happen,

It feels like nothing can hurt city now at this stage.

Not bothered who plays as long as we slap the bastards plus Saturday is bigger for me need get on the valium get sleep buzzing like a cat's piss pipe for Saturday omg Manchester city as made my life.

Still too much of a dipper influence

I think the German ref (Brych) for Wednesday would see that check from behind as a foul, while many English refs call that "part of the physical game".

Of course you can use contact in football, but in an honest way.
Checking someone from behind is certainly not honest and not in the sense of the rules.

He is the only WC ref from Germany and certainly wants to prove why, whereas no UK ref will be there.
I expect a very professional performance from him, trying to be as invisible as possible.
Big honour for him to oversee that game.

Do you think he will be swayed by their crowd who will scream and bay for every decision?

Incidentally did the mistake of reading the comments below a guardian piece on this match.

Like many other City supporters, beginning to really despise this lot to an extent close to or even more than manure fans. With the latter it's mostly the armchair fans that are annoying, but Liverpool fans really are like crazy, nasty cultists

The Guardian comments are always shite. They have a huge percentage of their football readership (huge percentage not an actually huge readership because the Guardian is losing readers rapidly) that are plastic rags and dippers who write shite and it gets recommendations from the other plastic fans. There's no downvote button either so you just get posts like "oil money human rights, citeh, no history" and they get upvoted to the moon. There's nothing close to real discussion and it's all partisan jokes and "celebrity posters" that are almost alwasy not funny and usually just weird.

When they can't mention City the comments are just foreign and home counties rags and dippers hypocritically throwing shit at each other like mentally disabled chimps and thinking that because they read the Guardian online and for the most part can spell that they are above the usual level of your typical online football fans.

Me neither - apart from Jesus/Aguero and Kompany/Laporte

So you think he'll risk Fernandinho against the rags? I don't. I think KDB and Walker will be rested as well. And possibly Silva.

Bernardo, Danilo, Zinchenko and Gundogan will almost certainly play against the rags IMO.

Is it the same referee and assistants for both legs?
