Liverpool (A) PL - Post Game

Rodri has been more important than many realise, he elevates the whole team, linking defence and attack, and destroying opposition's attacks.

His injury means other players have to work harder, which leads to injuries, which means the fit players are overplayed (Akanji, Gvardiol, Bernardo, Haaland), which leads to them losing form...

Of course, it's not only about losing Rodri. A sudden dip in form is perfectly natural after 4 great seasons. There's a reason why no other team in English history has won 4 in a row, and no other team in Europe has ever gone 26 games unbeaten. Those immense efforts have taken their toll. It's inevitable.

Why haven't we prepared for this moment a bit better? Because nobody knows when it will come, and because we owe respect to the players who have achieved the success. We can't tell them, say, Kevin or Bernardo, thanks but now please go. Also, some expected a crisis last season, and had we tried to replace players then, we might have failed to win 4 in a row.
Worst of all is that we were given a taste last season of how this team cannot function without Rodri. Losing every game he didn’t play in.

But we gambled he would stay fit. Didn’t pay off and the season is over.

the usual spiel, although I heard nothing on Sunday. Police have really clamped down on it over recent seasons.

It that Merseyside police who have clamped down on it or other forces ?

It does appear that anything involving the dippers and their supporters becomes the biggest crisis in the world, whilst the rest of society just get on with things.

And our bloody media just help to feed it !

We hoped Kovacic could do a job after learning the system the previous season, and also got Gundo back who knows the system. It would have been hard to find a top quality DM willing to be a back up to Rodri, and he would have needed time anyway. In hindsight, we should have signed a good, young, physically strong midfielder. Right now, our midfield is lightweight.

Funny how they still haven't made one arrest after they smashed our coach up nor when a flare was thrown into Chelsea fans the other year or even giving up their own for the pint pot attack at our place. One rule for scousers another for everyone else.

Soon we will have Spurs fans saying that 'have you ever seen Tottenham win the league' is tragedy chanting. Can we still chant 'you're fucking shit' at the rags or is that classed as tragedy chanting as well. If they were singing about Hillsborough then that's fair enough but pretty much anything else isn't. That shower of shit still sing about ' in your Manchester slums' I presume that's ok is it.

Out of interest, does anybody know a dipper supporter that is a mute ?

I imagine that would be the only time that anybody could get a word in. :)
