Liverpool (A) PL - Post Game

Drop points against Forest and it's time for very serious action by the Board.

Haaland is amazing chasing ball down and 1 v 1 situations - shame we are not the counter attacking team for that style. He'd be amazing at Liverpool tbf.... Nunez would be gone in a week. Everyone slates me for this but i don't think Haaland was really Pep's choice...just too good a commercial opportunity at the time. He hardly scores in big games really.

Kane was Pep’s choice IMO. Haaland is fantastic. Wouldn’t change him for the world - neither would Pep I’m sure - but there needs to be a bit of adapting from both Pep in how he plays but also Haaland in how he makes things go his way rather than being reliant on others.

IMO anyway.

Everyone's banged on about pace and power for about three seasons now.. Look at Tottenham's midfield..loads that are well over 6 foot but ALSO..importantly very very quick... AND have good technical touch...this is the same all over the league..allows for amazingly quick counter attacks...we have been getting done like this for years as we never match the pace and power and defend too high ...how many times has Eddie had to risk a broken neck flying out to save us from a simple ball between Centre halves or over the top and fast men leave us for dead...surely to god someone in the back room has access to a whiteboard!!
Only mentioned it because I’ve been pilloried numerous times over the last few years for saying it.

Size, strength and speed, coupled with the technical ability to play in this squad, is the Golden Ticket!

Of all the shite I've read....

Broke first? We've just won an unprecedented 4 league titles on the bounce ffs. Broke first, Jesus Christ.
The bollocks that's talked in here, ffs.
I thought we were doing well after winning two in a row. I've been expecting a shit season at some point and I'm amazed we've won four in a row and won them in style.
Because of our success, we've persevered with the core of the same team for longer than we probably should have. We might even have eked it out for this season as well if it wasn't for the Rodri situation and the slew of injuries. The team were just coming to the end of a cycle.
This will just be a catalyst to break up this team and have a major rebuild and we'll come back stronger as a result.
Meanwhile let's all enjoy a stress free season and let's not start getting on the backs of Pep, the management or the players.
No team can win it every season ffs.

Gotta be balls deep for the Champions League now
We’re not clawing back 11 points on the murderers, so with a couple of astute January signings , throw the kitchen sink at it
Let’s face it, we could be struggling for top 4.
Bobb to come back, 2 new midfield signings might reignite this season

Forget the Champions League or any major signings in January, The winter transfer window is never a good window to buy and panic buying is not the way to solve our season,

The title was gone before today's game and the result at Liverpool, like I said earlier Arsenal will win the title because they have the strongest squad and a good system.

City and Pep have built a good platform to have a bad/sorry season and work on a new squad for the future
What this season will do is sort out the players who have nothing else to offer or can not go full-on again on all fronts,

Manchester City really does not have much time for the rebuild in the summer because when the season ends then the Fifa World Club tournament starts, So I think Pep will go with the players he has got and give them one last chance of winning something, Straight after that, it will be a revolving door with the ins and outs, Some of big-time players leaving and it will be sad to see them leave, but they will leave with full honours and maybe a statue or 2

What today has shown is Pep and City have finally accepted this squad is done, it's far too weak and injury-hit to fight for honours on all fronts, I even think we could struggle to finish in a top-four place if we don't find something to work on or get a bit luck or a lucky break,

Yes nothing is won or lost just yet, But the final curtains are starting to twitch

Totally agree, I think if we had got Kane, we would be very different and much much better,,,, might have tempted that Sonny lad to join us too...what a combination!
