For anyone bemoaning the standards of our football I'm off to watch Lincoln City tonight in a League 1 game (v Cambridge United) just to remind myself of the days when we used to go home and away (some shocking away grounds) to watch City in the old Div 2 and watch some truly awful football.

Last time I was at Lincoln City was the 4-1 away win in the League Cup (1996). We've come a long way since then.

I really dislike Salah, he just has one of those incredibly annoying faces and throws himself to the ground at any oppurtunity.
He was only on the pitch thirty minutes and threw himself to the ground three times even though there was no contact , he knows the Klanfield feral support will whistle and howl for a penalty.Sure i read somewhere that the last 50 penalties awarded at their shithole 49 of them were awarded to the Dippers.

Through the hard times and the good.

Walker must have agreed a deal with Pep this season given how much game time he has had compared to last season.
So what did he do wrong on Sunday, or are you just grinding the same old axe?
It was such a "collective shit the bed" that God himself (Pep) may have to take the rap - total under-performance. Team looked unprepared mentally. Not playing Dias too - in a game where mental strength and leadership are going to be vital. Bet the atmosphere amongst the players wasn't perfect from the off.
But 99.99% of the time he is of course right - shame the 0.01 has to often be against them.

Erm, wasn't the 1996 game a 4-1 defeat? Rosler in the first minute then a total collapse.
No joy selling fanzines after that game but got some interesting suggestion as to where I could shove them.

And the other one is still orbiting the moon.

I simply don't understand how ten men can run around like absolute maniacs for ninety minutes and not appear to get tired. Their pressing from about the twentieth minute was unreal. They were forcing mistakes out of us.
And they do it match after match. No other team can do that. Not one. Not in the PL, not in Europe. So how is it possible?

Yesterday showed how much we miss Gundo. He would have grabbed that game by the scruff of the neck.
As would David Silva. I remember the game there when Micah managed to crock Vinny in training just before the game and Vinny played but was clearly not fully fit. We went 2 goals behind IIRC and than David stepped up and absolutely ran the show from then on. A totally imperious performance from him. Until Vinny fucked up a clearance and we lost in the end, as usual at that place.
