Today after the first 15 mimutes we werent good enough. Nothing to do with wet the bed or the anfield atmosphere etc etc.....we just didnt have the legs and the elelphant in the room is KDB in intense games. He was very poor despite the assist and we are a man short defensively when he is on the pitch. 99.9% of games it isnt an issue but in the odd one here and there it really shows and today was one of them.

Walker after the first half was decent and Akanji justified Pep picking him. Ake was poor .....Stones and Rodri were ok for the vast majority of the match -Bernardo seemed to lose his head however which is very unlike him.

I dont know what happened to Ederson on the penalty. It was a very poor back pass by Ake who is very culpable for the penalty but Ederson looks like he struggled to get the ball and I think the injury happens before he collides with Nunez....

Pep needs to trust foden centrally.

Eddie might have done his thigh muscle, not sure how long a thigh strain would keep him out for. I actually think outside of the passing Ortega is a better keeper.

No it doesnt. He doesn't save penalties. That was a good penalty. But it could have been a bad one and he wouldn't save it. His qualities lie elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I want bravo back!!

Good post. We’re lacking a pair of top class wingers. Phil as we know is best when played central, Doku is just awful and Grealish is just okay. Pep has been forced to play Phil wide annd while he’s pretty good it’s nog enough. In contrast, Arsenal have the best balanced team with no weaknesses and that’s why they’ll win it ahead of Liverpool.

Grealish is not spectacular but it's games when he's not there when it's noticeable that we don't control games in the same way without him. He's a very important player in that scenario and one of the best there is at carrying out that role. We could have done with him today.

Doku just seems like an Adama Troare type to me. A nightmare to defend against when he has the ball but the end product is rarely good.

Love the pundits waxing lyrical about Dias.. saying how great he was only to show three complete fuck ups clean through on goal. If he played for us we would be blaming him.. not celebrating his inept finishing.. as would they!

Many moaners as usual. We ve tied at Anfield against really fired up Liverpool on last game of Klopp vs PL City.

Granted, they were the better team second half, still we had our chances. You have seen, that they a bit outfought us second half and thats the thing a tough away ground may do to yourself.

You can compare this game to almost all our high stakes UCL away games last season or previous: Real, Bayern, Atletico. Thats how we approach these games. Foremost not loose, do most important things with advantage of home turf.

They put a bit more into this game, but lets see how its going to pan out at the end. I will not judge ours team capabilities middle of the March, because our state/intensivity/longevity may still be according to plan.

Our tactics are still a huge concern, the gaps in midfield and 1 pass rips our defence wide open.
We were fortunate at 1 down v Rags they messed up quite a few breaks/passes and 2nd half today our defence was all over the place with 1 pass getting Dippers through time and time again and only poor finishing earned us a point.
Team is screaming out for a quality player alongside Rodri, and proper full backs and more pace and energy. Alverez again is not a winger or midfielder and yet again our tactics nullified Haaland
