Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

Rag cafe is that way >>>>>
i have always thought that Haaland's attitude is amazing and he is ONE of the best at running on goal with the ball at his feet. he is technically weak though tbf as a player in a passing side. I just have always said we look much better with a false nine and Bernie plays so much better when we cycle players up front. This Haaland thing has neve sat well with me, and tbf we scored more the season before we brought him in..that's amazing. Haaland will score a hatrick v Sheff Utd say and that skews the narrative. Love him though as he has an amazing attitude.

Now I've not read many posts just seen one that said "Thought we did well until the penalty." I am willing to bet that if that (whatever the misdeed was) had been against our player there would have been no penalty.
There would, Ederson basically kicked him up in the air, any referee not giving that should be sacked.

Thought we were a bit unfortunate today with Liverpool getting all the run of the ball. We're winning that comfortably 3-0 or 3-1 on any other day. One point about the Doku challenge at the end, he takes the ball cleanly and i'm surprised it went to VAR. On no planet in our solar system is that anywhere near a pen.

Jesus! This thread reads like we’ve lost. We’re a point off the top with 10 to go. Surely history tells us these lads and pep will get the job done. Cheer up

It's because Liverpool had key players missing and everyone thought it was our best chance to win there. Also to put it back in our own hands we needed a win. That's why. Anfield is just one tough fucking place to get a result.

You can always tell if it isn't a penalty (as in the player dived) from the perpetrator and the rest of the team.
The whole team knew it was,a penalty. Not a single complaint from our guys.

Kelleher
Bradley
Quansah
Szobsisal
Endo
Elliot

They all started for Liverpool today and we had full strength team bar Grealish. Not good enough at all.
But our squad this season is a shadow of last year's. Testament to Pep for keeping this bunch going...amazing really

Today after the first 15 mimutes we werent good enough. Nothing to do with wet the bed or the anfield atmosphere etc etc.....we just didnt have the legs and the elelphant in the room is KDB in intense games. He was very poor despite the assist and we are a man short defensively when he is on the pitch. 99.9% of games it isnt an issue but in the odd one here and there it really shows and today was one of them.

Walker after the first half was decent and Akanji justified Pep picking him. Ake was poor .....Stones and Rodri were ok for the vast majority of the match -Bernardo seemed to lose his head however which is very unlike him.

I dont know what happened to Ederson on the penalty. It was a very poor back pass by Ake who is very culpable for the penalty but Ederson looks like he struggled to get the ball and I think the injury happens before he collides with Nunez....

Pep needs to trust foden centrally.
Agree bar: 1) we were good enough first half (again, many miss the point with Anfield away game), second half not, but i think penalty so early was an additional burden, 2) dont think you can trust Foden centrally and have KDB in the line up too

Wobbled a bit at times. Context here is that if we win the league by a point, this is it. We are still massively in this. Dug in, found a way to get a point. Brilliant cameo x Kova. Doku not so much but actually could have won it. We are still here.

That game was there for the taking today.
We just aren’t playing well enough.
We don’t control games like we used to.

Fine margins. Foden not squaring to Haaland & instead smacking too close to their keeper, Doku rebound falling to their keeper. They had their chances too. Cool heads were needed & not many from either side played with a cool head, which is understandable.

Momentum so important in a game & we didn’t score when on top in the first half, let them re-group, then Rodri’s yellow and the timing of the penalty meant it was going to be tough to walk away with a win.

So, take the point & more importantly stop them from taking 3 and move on. 1 point behind with 10 matches left. I’ll take that.

And fuck Neville/Sky who were desperate to talk up that penalty VAR check.

Has anyone looked at the flipside of this, we are absolutely shocking but even with us being absolutely shocking the 'rock n roll' liverpool on bingos farewell tour cant beat us at the 'famous' klanfield, does that not show how much better we are than everyone that on our shocking days you have to take a draw or are we all firmly in the we're doomed camp?

Excellent substitutions by Pep. We were not holding the ball in the midfield and Kova rarely gives the ball away and Doku was a huge threat.

We were the better side in the first half. Calamity from Ake but they composed themselves in the latter part of the match when it could have got away from us.
Win out our matches and we win the league.

Think - got to say this - that the officials got it right. Glad to be thinking about the football instead of referee decisions.
