Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I love that I was able to witness us getting beat off some of the worst teams I’ve ever seen.
Stood with blues that didn’t go just because we were winning. We went to follow our team. No success but amazing times.
Then success came and guess what, those of us that had been there, seen it and bought the T-shirt couldn’t believe our luck.
It still didn’t matter if we won, drew or lost. We were there to support our team.
Many of you fair weather fans would do well to look at just how far we’ve come. We are an amazing team with the world’s best manager. Dropping a couple of points doesn’t make our players losers, bottlers or whatever else you want to throw their way.
Was I disappointed with the performance…. Yes….. Did we get lucky….. yes……
Do I love City any less, absolutely not.
Liverpool could and probably should have won today. We could have also sneaked it but neither of us did.
So sit back, strap yourself in and enjoy the last 10 games, we might just do ok…

Well the league table suggests we’re still in it. We clearly aren’t at last seasons levels and midfield is where we are struggling, but we still have a great chance to win it all.
I'd say we are about exactly where we were this time last year with an easier run in.

Shit performance, but a good point. A point away at Anfield is never a bad point. If we don't win the title from here it's not because of today, because of the stupid points dropped to Wolves, Chelsea home and away and losing a 2-0 lead at home to palace. 10 games to go, it's out of our hands, but far from over.
This is true, I'd also add spurs to that list.

I really wanted to gloat to dipper friend that your idiot TAA did the team talk for us, but fuck we panic a lot in 2nd half and somehow 7-8 of our players played really under their normal level. even likes of Bernardo, Rodri, KDB...

Ake and Ederson with a colossal fuck up right in 2nd minute of 2nd half, when does this kind of brainfuck happens in a big game in our favor? when?

we need to beat Newcastle and Arsenal now at Etihad, no other option.

and a fucking international break between them with some injuries guaranteed...

Haaland is getting double and triple teamed. He cannot score every time for us. Others need to step up. Foden had a shocker, KDB besides the cross missed with every pass. Alvarez was playing like he is pub midfielder. Dreadful all round except for Stones, Doku, Otega and Kova.

I think we need to acknowledge the elephant in the room.

Unless Haaland scores or produces a big moment for someone else he is a liability in our team setup.

Also, this is the second game this season where our midfield has been completely obligated by the opposition (happened against Aston Villa as well). In recent I've seen us lose, play badly, have an off day, lose to a poorly defended counter attack but never get completely dominated in the middle of the park. This doesn't happen to Pep teams and it's happened twice so far this season. I believe it's connected to the above factor.

Anyway, thanks to a great piece of set piece work we came away with a point. That's a positive at Klanfield but it means the title is now out of our direct control.
That's what happens when Gundogan leaves, I think our midfield is better with Kovacic but Pep likes what he sees from Alvarez there for whatever fucking reason.

We won the first half, they won the second, but truth be told we were the paint on post away from stealing it and we have kept ourselves in the title race.

Sometimes you have to suffer through these.
Spot on and giving them the gift of a penalty at the start of the second half was a complete disaster. It gave Liverpool and their fans all the momentum and new belief. Poor from Ake and then compounded by the stupid challenge from Ederson...not the first time he has done this.

haaland was a fuckin disgrace, no wonder Kev was kicking off when he got hooked, having said that we shit the bed at klanfield once again after the first 15 min
