Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

The 1st half was very good. The sort of 4-3-1-2 shape threw Liverpool off. I thought City would regret not taking the lead after a comfortable 1st half at Anfield, which is incredibly rare.

Guéhi was excellent. O'Reilly played his best game for weeks. Aït-Nouri's ability to carry the ball was a real asset.

Bernardo might not be the best equipped to deal with physical duels, but you can't fault his determination or work rate. His attitude was a key factor. He pressed all game. Rodri looked more assured as well.

Semenyo and Haaland didn't have the best of games. But the big Norwegian ended up contributing a lot in the end. Despite his poor general play, he got the important flick-on for the equaliser and tucked away the pressure penalty.

I don't think City are good enough to win the title, but they're hanging in there. Until it gets to 9+ points, there's still a chance.

I was at the Newcastle game and couldn't believe the improvement with oh really in midfield, absolutely bossed the show with simple effective passing and his athletic covering. He did it again today in against a top class midfield. He's under the radar because he's usually left back and it looks like he's just filling in but he is the real deal. foden is on the bench, cherki and rjeinders are on the bench. He's not a left back. He's a midfielder and he is fucking good . Did you notice who finished alongside haaland when that ghost goal rolled in? That was injury time and he fucking legged it to get himself up there

Starting others ahead of Cherki is a gamble.
Not convinced O'Reilly has the pace of thought to start in midfield, physicality yes but fleet of foot, nope
Dias on the bench.
Khusa needs to play himself into the game and not do anything rash in the first 10/20 minutes
Need to hope the lads are on their game today
Cherki is a bit of a luxury player at the moment. First half we need to battle. He can then come on and win the match for us

JUST HAD TO TAKE THIS FROM PRE-MATCH THREAD. :-). :-)

Have been suffering with depression lately, cannot tell you what that result meant to me. Thanks all on the Matchday thread today, great day - and its the only joy I had on a mid-50s birthday!
Mate I know what you mean, I’ve been on a downer for weeks, this result has lifted my spirits unbelievably, fucking football eh! It will be the death of me. Chin up fella, onwards and upwards, now if only it would stop fucking raining ;)

A team can't commit a foul while scoring. So the goal has to be disallowed.

But Pawson was playing advantage for the Szobozlai foul, and if we don't score we don't get any advantage.

So the game just rewinds to Szobozlai's foul, which was DOGSO, so red card and free kick.

It's actually pretty straight forward it's just the timing in the game, the emotions, the delay etc made it seem crazy.

Is it not that once he plays the advantage, they only call it back to the original foul if the advantage isn't made. Once Haaland fouls, why does it go back to the earlier foul?
