Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

huge win this. hope this is the start of us beating the vodoo at this ground. looked like we will lose bbut managed to dig deep and turn around, we needed this type of extra adrenalin shot into our arms after all those poor results recently. I bet Arteta went from laughing to being worried between the freekick goal and the pen goal.

beat Fulham and a very poor Newcastle at home now. not something impossible really. and thats how we can start putting pressure on Arse with 3 straight wins and not shit draws or losses.

That disallowed goal is a disgraceful decision.

Haaland is pulled back by a player committing a red card offence by denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity. Not only would Haaland have been absolutely miles clear of him had this not hapened, and therefore have been able to shepherd the ball in with ease, you could reasonably argue that a bloke who has just committed a red card offence shouldn't be able to have a decision made in his favour as play progresses.

VAR should be able to rule "Haaland would not have committed that foul had the red card offence not taken place - the goal stands".
No flag or whistle for the foul, goal scored FULL STOP.VAR intervenes, red card for cheating dipper. Goal stands. Simple.

Cherki won't have done himself any favours there. First with the shot from the halfway line when he really should have just played Haaland in and the free kick right at the end where he just blasted it over when others were saying play it wide and hold onto the ball.

I think he'll be a great player for us but he just needs to engage his brain a little.

Away win at Klanfield.....
Er, I think he did play Haaland in if he hadnt been pulled back?

I didn’t pick up on any age range but I did pick up on a Muslim lady, slap bang in the middle of the city fans. How bloody fantastic is that and great that she feels so at home in being there. COYB….
Always see loads of FOC’s when very occasionally they show City away fans. The shot I saw in particular was of about 10 - 12 lads probably between 16 to early 20’s and a lad about 10 in his city shirt on someone’s shoulders. So, yeah great that there’s a mix.

Absolutely bloody brilliant City! Bernardo brilliant against them yet again. Guehi absolute mint at the back. Khusa brave as a lion. What a save by Donna. Rodri and O'Reilly did a lot of good work in midfield too. Well done all.
And that big Norwegian lad made a difference

Oh i love it. But if you cant see that var is a fun stealing mess of the beautiful game i pity you

Did you grass me up in the labour thread ??????
2nd point first. I don’t grass anyone up in any thread.

My view on VAR have always been consistent in that as a concept it’s fine, but it’s ruining the game due to the incompetence and inconsistency by those using it.

Always said it should be time Ltd to make a decision eg, if a clear and obvious cannot be determined within 30 secs, the refs decision stands.

More importantly, it should be totally transparent in that fans and tv viewers can hear everything being discussed like it is in Rugby and Cricket.

Until that happens, frustration will rightly occur

Delighted with the win but we rode our luck second half up until they scored.

Bizarrely we were better after they had scored.

When we can complete 90 minutes of good football we can start to get excited.
Other than the ekitike header just wide, what chance did they really have where you thought he should score?
