Haaland fouls Szobozlai = goal can't be awarded.

So they go back to the advantage being played, and if Szobozlai hadn't pulled Haaland back, he'd have gotten to the ball first and scored.

So it's DOGSO and a red.

It's 100% the right decision, you can't criticise the VAR or Pawson for doing their jobs. You can maybe have the "do we want VAR" argument again but it was refereed completely by the book.

Haaland fouls, goal can't be awarded. Why go back to the advantage though, they usually do that when there is no advantage gained.

It was the correct decision. I don’t know why so many can’t see it?

If Haaland goes down from the shirt pull, Szoboszlai would then go on to clear the ball. It’d have then been given as a free kick and a red.

The advantage was played but then Haaland fouled Szoboszlai as he was about to clear it, so the ball ended up in the goal.

As soon as Haaland fouls Szoboszlai to stop him clearing it, you have to the go back to the initial foul and red card.

It’s really straightforward.
I don't dispute that this is true, I simply believe that VAR should be able to consider what went before in disallowing the goal. A red card offence had taken place, and had it not done so, Haaland's subsequent foul would not have happened and a goal would have been scored.

The red card offence was instrumental in Haaland's foul and the two are, in my opinion, directly connected in a passage of play. I am suggesting that VAR should be able to take that into account.

2nd point first. I don’t grass anyone up in any thread.

My view on VAR have always been consistent in that as a concept it’s fine, but it’s ruining the game due to the incompetence and inconsistency by those using it.

Always said it should be time Ltd to make a decision eg, if a clear and obvious cannot be determined within 30 secs, the refs decision stands.

More importantly, it should be totally transparent in that fans and tv viewers can here everything being discussed like it is in Rugby and Cricket.

Until that happens, frustration will rightly occur

Ok youre making sense now.
Var is a flawed concept because it makes grey calls still a grey decision

so i will agree the decision today was probably “correct” but to what end ? Just give the goal

Incompetent refs are getting calls wrong , though in fairness pawson gave the goal, and the incompetant var officials are getting it further wrong. It stinks

Its a mess

Var should be for black and white calls, over the line or not, inside the area or not, but they need to stay away from calls that are just an opinion

How is it DOGSO when he didn't deny the goal though

how is Carragher? he must be hurting that he wanted Amorim fired for months and when they did even shit rags went above his dear dipper side and actually increasing the gap.

Cherki won't have done himself any favours there. First with the shot from the halfway line when he really should have just played Haaland in and the free kick right at the end where he just blasted it over when others were saying play it wide and hold onto the ball.

I think he'll be a great player for us but he just needs to engage his brain a little.

Away win at Klanfield.....
Watching that back if he passed to Haaland it wouldve gone to his right, Haaland woukd then have to either come back onto his left across Slob or go further away from the net, unless he shoots early, I do t think he would’ve scored but we won’t know, Haaland should’ve gone down pulling Slob with him and let OReilly follow in the goal, then it could’ve been awarded.

There in lies the problem.
Brilliant if run by AI - as it stands just adds another level of ineptitude to the situation. Today being a prime example - zero reason to get involved.
Dipper fouls Haaland preventing him playing the ball (if needed), Haaland commits subsequent foul, ball crosses line which would have happened anyway.
Only gamblers are concerned with it

He denied Haaland from gaining control of the ball in front of an empty net. In denying this, it then allowed him to be able to gain control of the ball himself, which Haaland then denied by fouling him back.

If no fouls occur, that ball isn’t ended up in the goal by itself. It’s either being scored by Haaland or cleared by Szoboszlai.
