Liverpool (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

A player you'd love to have by your side when you're in the trenches!
“WW1 Xmas day 1914” Captain Black Adder, turns to his insufferable sidekick corporal Baldrick, and inquires how are they going to turn turn around a one goal deficit against the Jerry’s. Baldrick standing next to Sergent Major Guehi, Well Sir, I have a cunning plan!

Great result. Did not expect to win especially with them going 1-0 up. But bloody hell. the old dog silva called upon his years of experience to make that run and start the come back.

Thought we played well in general, some sloppy passes at times hopefully we can inprove on that. Khush is a warrior for such a young lad hes got bags of courage and heart, love to see it. Diaz coming on is very promising, guehi looks solid, like kompany solid and i was impressed with orielly. Pep also hets praise for his selection and tactics, 433 is better for us i feel. Hopefully the spark to kick on and win the league! Weve been here before! Cmon city!

Match thoughts:

First half was very good, we passed out from the back nicely, played further up the pitch than I thought we would and controlled the game. With a bit more composure up front we would have scored at least 1
Guehi was brilliant first half and really looked like a leader at the back.

Second half, I think we all saw the goal coming just before it did. We couldn’t get out and kept conceding free kicks or corners.
I thought that was that, based on the last few years of this team, we never really come back in situations like that.
Fair play to the lads for the comeback, it was epic.

What a chaotic finish to the game. I even forgot about Donnarumma’s save until about half an hour after full time.

Great scenes in the away end.

Another random thought, Ait Nouri is an extremely skilful and flair type left back.
I was seriously annoyed when we didn’t score from that break away near the end when it was 3 on 1 led by him.

Funny that for all the controversial decisions in the game, the world has seen fuck all of the "foul" that resulted in Liverpool getting the free-kick they scored from.
Liverpool player fell over therefore it was a foul. What's the problem?

I’m convinced the ref told him that’s it. No way he does that without that from the ref.
That was my immediate thought.

Everyone around me was shouting at Cherki to take it to the corner, but I was thinking that if we lost possession, then the ref might allow Liverpool to launch it upfield

Cherki seemed to know that a wild shot and a subsequent dead ball would virtually guarantee the ref blowing the final whistle from the ensuing goal kick
