Agree.

If the ref did nothing, blew for full time or immediately after they take the ko, no one would say a word.

The focus would be on the skill of Cherki.
He jinked into space in the centre circle then rolled the ball to perfection half the length of the pitch with players chasing after it.

He didn't just lash it and hope for the best like someone else once did!

What a shame for him.

You could make a case to disallow half of Arse's set piece goals this season with all the off ball grapling going on.
I'm fairly certain that Cherki passed the ball into space for Haaland or perhaps O'Reilly (if he saw him) to tap in. If he'd been going for goal himself he'd have put more of his foot through the ball.

No doubt some will say the laws of the game have been applied properly and City's third goal was correctly disallowed. The problem with that approach is its too robotic and lacks judgment being used. If Haaland had not been fouled the ball would have gone into the goal. It was a certain goal. Common sense says give the goal because Shobbo gained an advantage from his initial foul. Why should Shobbo benefit from his initial foul? The ref should have used his judgment. It was a unique situation. Good job it did not deny us 3 points. And imagine if we miss out on the title due to 1 goal difference.

That debate about the 3rd goal is understandable.

Strictly speaking, the referees followed the rules. Szloboszlai would have cleared the ball if Haaland hadn't fouled him.

But the rules can't take into account all possible situations. Few would complain if the goal stood. A bit of flexibility wouldn't be harmful in such situations. Now Liverpool will be without their best player next game. Both teams were penalised.

Just put the City Ramble on but had to turn it off - I’m not interested in listening to anyone who says “good win, but we might slip up V Fulham”. Bore off, we will not slip up V Fulham, no chance. But even if we do, I don’t want doom mongers less that 24 hours after one of our best wins in 20 years

Anyway on this shirt pull incident, wouldn't Salah have fallen backwards and not launch himself forwards and collapse in a heap spectacularly?
It was a dive. Not a chance Dias does not get the ball either. Slot has turned into a moaning moron. It was a phantom foul for Slob free kick as well. No contact at all. I have revised my view that Arsenal are the only diving team in the PL. Liverpool are second only to Arsenal for cheating.

It may not have been checked had Szoboslai not had the audacity to claim for the foul.

The plastic dipper neighbour who is usually so keen to talk football .. rushed into his car without looking up this morning .. lol
Work is a wonderful place today. They're all very hushed. I saw two who I normally get on with discussing it but they went very quiet as I passed. No doubt they were talking about the Salah dive that saw Guehi booked or when Liverpool used to have Ronnie Whelan and back passes were legal or some other shite.

I slept well but woke up at 5.30 still buzzing. We won at Anfield. We beat the dippers in their own home. We won at Anfield.
Wussies! I still haven’t slept, but the Sandman is starting to call my name!

What a great game, great comeback, and statement of intent from the players!

First double over Liverpool since the 1930s says about all one needs to say about the moment!
