Commentators were saying "we've been told there's 15 seonds to play" right before he took it. I guess he knew but I was a little miffed he didn't just roll it over and have the ball taken to the flag.

The freekick and sending off only benefits the team who committed the offence on this occasion. This is not in the spirit of the game when a goal has subsequently been scored. If it was 1-1 and this was the outcome (us having a freekick), it means cheats prosper.

A goal should overrule any proceeding infringement. e.g. a penalty should not be given if the ball ends up in the net in the same motion.

The equivalent in rugby would be to award a penalty try.

Yep, he had a great game. I also don't consider him nowhere near good enough.

I've also seen Rico Lewis enter a Treble season and have great games.

He will never be a defender either! ;)

I think you are wrong about Ait Nouri, but time will tell. Don’t think he’s anywhere near as bad at defending as some are making out. Also, we don’t exactly buy fullbacks to be great defenders, Cancelo for example, as we want them to be a threat going forwards.

That’s mean mentioning him in same breath as Rico too!

I had to give this site a swerve for 24 hours as I couldn't believe what I read on that match day thread.

O'Reilly was crap, Semenyo a terrible buy, Haaland needed to be sold, Pep needed to be sacked at full time.

And that was amongst all the vitriolic abuse at the players.

Time that thread was pulled.

When Cherki took the shot and giving possession back to them to take a long goal kick had me screaming at the TV. Zero game management there but luckily the whistle went as soon as he took the goal kick

So much time was added on even the anti-City commentators were saying the whistle would go as soon as the resulting goal kick was taken. If Cherki had taken a short free kick and we’d messed about with it and lost the ball, the game would have continued until the ball went dead and potentially ended up in our net.

There’s no way he actually went for goal there for the same reason. If Alisson had saved it, the game would have continued until the ball went dead again possibly resulting in a goal against us.

I thought it was pretty smart what he did.

Since neither of them touched the ball it should have been treated as an off the ball incident, both should have been booked and the goal should have stood

The Salad/Guehi red card is gaining momentum as the turning point of the game , what about Konate with two hands on Mamrmoush in the penalty area and pushing him to the ground in the first half , because Chuckle Brother didnt think it was a penalty VAR didnt get involved. Your not telling me VAR are not influenced by the Sky commentary , because that was anailed on penalty , but not a mention on any programme or website , it never happened.

They do not have a feed of any commentary at all be that Sky, BBC, PLP, Canal+, NBC... But all the commentators from every station can hear them when they key to talk to the referee.

I see Sky are pushing the notion that Liverpool should have had a penalty just before the disallowed 3rd goal

They even have close up video evidence... which shows Rodri making a perfectly time tackle

At least it’s stopped them going on about the Robertson interfering with play disallowed goal at our place -for a while anyway
