Liverpool (A) Post Match Thread.

One vaguely positive thing to come out of the defeat - at least the argument that the only way to beat us is to kick us off the park seems to have slinked away - not heard a word about it since the dippers game and we weren’t on the end of any really bad tackles against Newcastle. Before the dippers game one of our players was on the end of a potential leg-breaker every time we played

Where have all those dipper fans gone that popped in on me just over a week ago? Just paid them all a visit and managed to get the phrase "Burnt out" in every conversation.

It is incredible, isn’t it, that they play out of their skins to beat us, and then lose to the bottom team in the league. It was pretty similar in the game at Anfield in 2014. We must really have become their Cup Final, however much they affect to see us as a little club with no history.

To be fair, they were going for the league that year and were on a run of something like 10 league wins on the bounce when they played us so the result on that occasion wasn't a big surprise, but apart from that we struggle to get anything there most of the time and they always seem to have our number yet United go there and regardless of how badly they play they often get a result of sorts.

That's 5 defeats in a row for us at Anfield now, plus there was the 3-0 defeat 5 days before the FA Cup semi in 2011. We had successive draws in the 2011-12 and 2012-13 seasons but arguably our 2 best displays there since the takeover were the 2 draws when Hughes was manager.

Apologies to John Stones for saying he should've been stronger under Firmino’s challenge. Good angle of the incident on Liverpool's tunnel cam clearly showing it was a fairly hefty shove in the back

Extract from post match thread after last nights game

The only reason we lost last night is because Salah, Bobby, and Mane were all misfiring. How many times are your front three going to do that in a season? Once?

I genuinely believe we are thundering in the right direction. This was three steps forward and one step back.

Get Keita on board and (if the rumours are correct) Jan Oblak (Ath. Mardrid) and I genuinely believe for the first time in decades, that we'll win it next season.

Congratulations to the Swans. But let's not forget the bigger picture here. "

They are the gift that keeps on giving, amazing how simple he or she sees it, the only reason they lost was they misfired and it only happens once a season.

Time to print millions of "This is our year" T-Shirts again.

In fairness though, it must be easier to raise your game against the big boys than the strugglers. Its games like last night that make the prem what it is. Coupon busters. It does show how good our 19 game run was.

It WAS a shove in the back. Not shoulders against each other it was a shove in the back wouold catch anyone off balance cos it's a foul.

Still not that arsed though, it was just a bad ten minutes, we beat ourselves, we could have got a draw despite it all, and Liverpool have PTSD after it. I think we will get our win under Pep at Anfield soon.
