Liverpool (a) post-match thread

Liverpool away, champs league semi final,

spurs away champs league last year

Norwich away this year

wolves at home

and Liverpool away today.

Gundogan started all of those games in an attacking role and we lost all of them.

love the guy, as a DM he’s fantastic, but he just will never work as an attacking midfielder.
Never be a DM as long has he's a hole in his ar.. !!

Not all 8 in succession, no. Not with the way we defend.

I respect what yousay. I would say the same thing myself were it not for the fact that City are one of the most remarkable teams in the history of English football. And this is the Premier League where anything can and does happen

:)

I don’t get it either. I say it every week. He does nothing yet pep plays him. I actually believe most of our issues are down to him. The pressure he puts on our back line is incredible.

Nah. The reason we lost was because we didn't take any of the seven decent chances I can think of off the top of my head ! There may have been more. Plus the abysmal defending for all three of their goals and if course VAR or LAR ! Gundo did his job and played well but some if our so called fans just can't see it !

Well ok mate. But why not today ?
What would he have added? Some people are fucking blind to the situation at hand...I fucking give up!

NEWSFLASH: HE IS A FUCKING KID AND PEP DOESN’T 100% TRUST HIM MORE THAN THE PLAYERS ON THE FIELD.

Got it now???

It's hand ball.

Salah was offside. I'm still waiting to see an actual VAR check and not the line sky used. Pretty art work but as much use as a chocolate tea pot. This appears to have been forgotten about.

It's also a penalty on Sterling and by the letter of the law the 2nd handball was also a penalty.

For all the talk of tactical fouling. Liverpool were excellent at it and went entirely unpunished throughout the football match.

So, critical moments and quite clearly corrupt and no man is going to convince me otherwise.

Noise aside of that, the actual football match. I thought we were okay. We are a better team than them overall. They are good at what they do and we seem to have an issue defending it. They were on our back 4 far too easily and we looked like conceding every time they attacked. Conversely, we created lots but never liked scoring the goals we would have needed.

Remember Liverpool are perennial chokers. They do it all the time. Far from over.
I thought so too at the time but they were very very marginal. None was an outrageous decision in my opinion although the pen shout early on should have been given. VAR does not overrule ref in those cases. Ref bottled it, and that changed the game.

Don’t see any wrong decision today, that’s the view from France television as well. gundo was shocking I agree. We were not there technically and impossible to win without playing to the max there.
Just a little note.

Ric did away with the rule where you have to post your football IQ in your username bud.

It wasn't a great clearance but maybe he wasn't in a position to hit it harder and that was the best he could manage in the circumstances (I haven't gone back and studied it). He was at least back and defending in his own box. Why wasn't anyone closer to Fabinho to prevent him shooting? Why didn't Bravo get across to save it? Not just about Gundo.
yeh not just his fault but think he was the 3 rd largest culprit after Oliver and var!

Sky invite Klopp for a pitch-side chat, invite Henderson to watch replays of his cross together. It’s Liverpool TV yet again.

What can City have done about those first 2 goals. They were fantastic. First one a bit unlucky because of the VAR call. What a start for Liverpool.

Thereafter City played a good game but missed chances.

I thought Sterling was the best player on the pitch. Bernardo was everywhere. But nothing went for us in front of goal. Partly that is our fault.

I've thought for some time Liverpool would win the league because we are fragile defensively. In truth they won 3-1 and scarcely played today. They let us have the ball. I thought that was tactical, and pretty stupid tactics by Klopp because we could easily have scored earlier from one of many chances and it would have changed the game.

City need to get more out of De Bruyne. He is not at the level he was at. I don't know whether injuries have taken their toll, but he's just falling short.

Kevin was outstanding before the injury against Everton. He will be outstanding again.
