Liverpool (a) post-match thread

You can argue about the handball but maybe Bernardo handles it prior to that. The 3 goals for me could have been prevented. You're down to the barebones defensively as it is

That said I thought City played very well, a few agonizing shots just wide, a few straight at Alison, a few crosses with no clean contact or just behind the player etc. You could have had 4 goals on another day, mind you so could have them too. They just keep plugging away, but they can be caught.

To be fair to Zinchenko, he's a midfielder, has very good passing ability and keeps the game ticking over, Silva and Sterling use him to bounce off down the left - the problem is he lacks pace.

Also to be fair, hes not the only one in our squad with that characteristic is he

That's great Marvin, but we take them short and then give it straight to an opposition player, we might as well cut out the middle man, and just kick it behind, our corners are completely and utterly pointless 95% of the time.
Or kick it for a throw in and box them in

He plays for the knock down and picking up the 2nd ball. We don’t actually try to score from the initial phase of a corner. We always have 3 or 4 players outside the box.

I see no logic in the set up.

Forget Var and the ref and our poor defence, we simply miss too many chances. 3 on target shots from 18 attempts and its the same most weeks. Add to our non existent threat from set pieces and this is a big a problem as everything else. We must be the most wasteful team in the league

Work will be fun tomorrow. Any of you lot who has ever been to sunny (!) Ireland will be well aware that the country is awash with rags and dippers. And there's a few of them at work. Oh well. I'm sure someone will stand bail for me.

Bernando would have almost certainly have been pulled up for that but the worst that happens is we don’t get a pen. They don’t go up the pitch and score. Oliver is 5 yards away tops with no one blocking his view and he can’t see that. He is supposed to be our best ref.
