Liverpool (A) Post Match Thread

It suddenly occurs to me that other than his missed header, and when he was fouled for that "Zinky, let me pull you along the ground" free kick, I didn't hear a single word about Mane today.
You forgot him bringing down Mahrez and getting away with a card.

Anyone noticed when Foden was celebrating his goal Ederson was there too ! Must of run the full length of the pitch
Hate to shatter your dreams but after the goal Phil ran back towards the half way line to celebrate. Given that Eddie was probably 10 yards outside the box anyway he probably ran 30 yards hence why he was there. Great to see though and one day I hope he does run full length of the pitch to join in

I reckon scousers know writing on the wall after that. I suspect their plan was to cash it on mane and Salah for coutiniho type cash and rebuild what is an aged squad. Covid and possibility of dropping outside of top 4 has scuppered that, as no team will be spending big big money on a single player.
I see plenty of Jason mcateer type players incoming

Why not? Where the taker puts the ball is irrelevant. Maybe on a park pitch without VAR but at this level it should be checked.
Where the taker puts the ball IS relevant.

Same as the encroachment rules. The penalty is only re taken if the ball is saved and cleared by an encroaching defender.

Even if Allison moved off the line by 6 inches it didn't effect Gundogan's ability to hit the target. Therfore it stands as a poor penalty miss.

Poor? You’re being very generous there. Gundo had a bit of a tough first half all in all... didn’t start well with that Thiago “challenge”.

His drop off this season has been incredible.
Funny how the media were gleefully pointing out that Sterling & Aguero hadn't scored in 2020 when football returned after the first lockdown. (Jenas to his credit pointed out that stat was absolutely ridiculous as Kun was injured during the time and no football was played during the lockdown so how could they score)

Yet no-one would dare highlight that Liverpool's No.9 "Bobby" Firmino had scored ZERO goals at Klanfield for over a calender YEAR, a goal drought spanning across TWO seasons.

Any penalty that doesn't hit the target is poor IMO. Regardless of who takes it. If the keeper saves it then fair enough but to totally miss the target from 12 yards by a professional international footballer isn't exactly unlucky. Can't blame the Thiago incident for him missing that. He was outstanding the rest of the game though.

Find it hilarious that some say allison gifted us 2 goals ?

Hold on a minute the last time I looked Bernie & Phil still had to get the ball past the defenders & allison
Exactly. Still had a lot to do after recieving the ball. That run and cut back from Foden for the second, and that dink by Silva over Alisson for Sterling was delightfull.
Pretty sure we ballsed up a few times against them over the last few seasons, but the narative was always 'brilliant Liverpool', Ederson's clearance straight to No Salad for one. Sky had it running as a skyQ advert for a year as a brilliant goal, so maybe they could give our goals the same credit. Not holding my breath.

First of all I would like to say that City winning 4-1 was a very flattering scoreline

For Liverpool .. Is what that Sour Kraut horse toothed twat should have been honest enough to say.
He really is a sore loser.. Yeah Alison did make a couple of fuck ups but we also missed a penalty and they cheated to get a penalty with the Egyptian Tom Daley.
I think I will have to rewatch the game again later and enjoy it without any stress..
Has anybody heard from Aldo today.. Or John John..

Maybe you should re-read my post mate. Poor? It was worse than poor it was atrocious (hence why I said you were being generous). At no point did I even suggest that the Thiago “challenge” and the penalty shocker were related.

He wasn’t outstanding for the rest of the game bar the penalty. First half he was misplacing passes and was just off the pace of the game... we had our old Gundo back the one we had all grown to know and complain about... second half he was much more influential in the game and more like his recent form. Anyroad opinions are like arseholes, everyone’s got one
