Liverpool (A) Post Match Thread

Well- where to start on yesterday's game...

WOW, WOW, WOW ! I am still fucking buzzing. We put them to the sword and Klopp blaming the cold after was gold.

After the West Ham game earlier in the season i was v concerned about how we were playing but the turnaround since then has been simply phenomenal and that is simply down to Pep being a genius coach.

My take on the individuals that started yesterday :

Ederson- Clearly proved he is better than Allison yet again

Cancelo- Pretty much transformed into the worlds best RB.
Stones- Outstanding. I said before the season started if he could get his head right he'd be a huge asset. He is a rock.
Dias- What a leader. Salah dived and it was clear for everyone to see.
Zin- This lad deserves a huge amount of credit. Been excellent all season and earned a new contract. I'd still sign a new LB in summer if we can ship Mendy out but he should be kept as a key squad player.

Rodri- Taken him time to settle but now he has he is arguably the worlds best holding mid. Plays the Busquets role better than Busquets himself.
Gundo- Incredible. What a player. Along with Dias he is in contention for player of the season.
Bernardo - The real Bernie is back and it's a fucking joy to watch. Ran his arse off as usual and that dink over Alisson-WOW.

Foden- I hate labelling players this and that but he is comfortably the best young player in the world and he's one of us. When he scored the fourth it was a hairs on your neck moment. He is truly special.
Sterling- Made a mockery of Trent and finally scored at Anfield for us. Excellent Raz.
Mahrez- Had a quiet game by his high standards this season.

A lot of credit has got to go to Pep & his coaching staff for turning around squad players like Gundagan, Cancelo, Stones & Zinchenko who all looked their playing days at the club were drawing to an end but are now playing at the top of their games.

A few seasons ago when they did us 4-3, Eddy made a couple of similar errors, but it was all down to their brilliant forwards putting us under pressure. This time it’s all about could have been a draw and cold feet. Okay, the latter may be tongue in cheek but it was mentioned by Tyler on commentary, their manager after the game and on motd. Funny shit.

Neville made me laugh making excuses for them that this was a temporary blip. If that would have been us on the end of a hiding like that at home from one of our nearest rivals him and Tyler would have been salivating at it.

Totally agree
It’s time we let Ederson have a go.
Brazilian goalie Ceni amassed over 130 career goals for his club. He was a set piece specialist. Most were pens but I think a substantial number were free kicks too.
Please let Ederson have a go Pep.
It would cement his legendary status no doubt...

Shirley that would piss the outfield players off wouldn't it..??

They should be able to hit the target from 12 fucking yards then. Imagine this lot in a champions league final shoot out bottling it. I would rather play Munich, get a penalty in the 70th minute to take the lead an see Eddie strolling up to take it than Raheem or Sergio

Yeah... but sod that.. we won 1-4 at Anfield, so that Elephant sitting in the corner painted in bright colours whilst fingering its arsehole and singing “what the fuck are we playing at” can wait until we do the exact same thing again next time.

For now I’m getting pissed and feeling happier than I have for the last 12 months.
Yeah - i'm with you for today - let's enjoy the rout and scouse wailing. But bigger picture, this needs to be sorted out before the CL later stages. It is quite likely one of those will go to penalties. Now bizarrely we seem to have a rather impressive record in shootouts, but it is our one obvious weakness right now and should be one of the easiest to fix. Just hit the rather large target for starters ...

This is so true.
Last season Aguero, DeBruyne Walker, Fernandinho, Laporte and David Silva would have been certainties to play in the big matches.
This season they are not here or injured.
The team is playing so much better as a unit.
Even when the full backs are high up the pitch I'm not worried anymore about the ball over the top.
Everyone seems to be chasing the ball again and are hungry to play.

YNWA unless you are Karius or Allison. Tbf Allison did play like he was working for a far east betting syndicate, but when Grobbelaar actually was they still won plenty so it's hardly his fault. Klop has thrown him under the bus to avoid admitting his 'asthma champions' are shit.
As someone pointed out, Ederson did the same early on, but Liverpool didn't have 1/10 of the skill of Foden so it came to nowt.
