If it was four years ago, I would say Pep was a dream opponent. But he evolved during his years in Bayern. He got the most out of both Lahm and Müller, and also managed to play more direct - when needed.
In City, however, I have not seen the same variety. I feel that he does not fully trust his back four, nor his defensive midfielders. City seem to lack the mobility and technique to play possession from the back 100%.
The sad part for Liverpool is that their press game with Origi and Sturridge up front, is nothing special. It has always been Firminos hard work that sets the tone. And with firmino playing on the wing, Liverpool lose much of their intensity.
Pretty even match up. I think it will be high tempo, back and forth, and individual performances will make the difference. The edge for Liverpool is that as long as they concede early, the home turf will probably be a huge factor.
Either Liverpool scores first and wins, or City score first and it's a tie.
