It is a hard game to face without the two recognised left backs. I would worry about putting Mendy into this as his first game back. Zinchenko has the distribution but not the defensive nous to cope with Salah. Danilo just back, Delph injured. Glad I don't have to pick the team.

Considering Liverpool have improved, it’s at Anfield and we are missing arguably our best player, I believe it’s unlikely that we will win on Sunday.

People on here should know history means nothing. The only thing we need to do is absorb the 30 minute press. We are the better side and their best player is misfiring.
I know we are missing Debruyne. But we are adapting to play without him. Him playing would make a huge difference though. This is a game we cannot "play our game". Even the best boxers know in certain fights, power isn't always the answer. Pep should know this and if we lose, i feel it's on him...

Don’t need to play like that every week or even for the whole game but it makes perfect sense to take the sting out of a game first.

With Mendy fit we can play 3 central defenders and have Walker/Mendy as two wingbacks.
People will think that is defensive but it isn't because Walker and Mendy can play as high as normal wingers. Add to that we will still have Aguero/Silva/Silva/Sterling on the pitch so wouldn't call any team with those guys in it defensive. We have had out trousers round our ankles any time we have went there recently, don't see why this change wouldn't work.

I think this formation is too light weight , too narrow and would be over run by liverpool, also D.Silva doesn't do well against high intensity teams like liverpool, If we are going to work with that formation then D.Silva has to be replaced by Sane
