If we play 4 at the back with any one of Mendy, Laporte or Zinchenko at LB then we’ll get beat.
Save Sterling for a late cameo to run at tired legs.

May as well just go all out attack but please don’t leak an early goal in the first 20 minutes and slow the game down. Also no Gundogan to start never plays good at anfield. Raheem to get the winner.
 
Does anyone think we could use Vinny as a DM, him and Fern sitting in front of a back 3/4 , I keep forgetting Vinny has played as a DM before under Hughes, good tackler, can read the game, we do look light weight in the midfield areas.

These are exactly my thoughts too. We perhaps just have to back ourselves against them with 4-3-3 and the 2 x Silva's in midfield as the possible 'more physical' options for a midfield role (Danilo, Delph and Stones) are not ideal

If Fern plays as our only DM we will definitely get beat, the guy needs help in there, I can't understand how people don't see this.

Didn’t he try Stones next to Fernandinho last night?
 
We need 3-5-2 in this game if not Mendy then Zinchenko. Zin will have Laporte next to him to help control Salah. With this formation they won’t be able to target Fernandinho given he’ll have more options to pass to.

Sterling as SS next to Kun. Unfortunately Sane would miss out but we could always bring him on to change the game against tired legs. Stones is a must start. Would even have Danilo at RB as he is much better in the final third and this formation would not leave us as exposed so Walker’s pace won’t be that important.

I really think this formation would cause them all sorts of problems and we would finally win at Anfield.

4-3-3 and they will target Fern and play long balls to Salah and Mane to try expose our back line which at times is ridiculously easy i.e last night.
