Our biggest crime was the missed chances at home, I'm not sure we had them "hanging on at anfield", they won 3-0, yes we were playing well at the end, but we failed the biggest test in football, scoring a goal, had we got one, who knows ? We didn't.
We were screwed over that season - the season we anihilated Liverpool 5 - 0. Oh, sorry, the 5 - 0 anihilation's been airbrushed from history.

The biggest crime was OUR missed chances....oh I said that already.

They scored, 5, over 2 legs, we scored 1, we certainly didn't have 5 disallowed.
Goals change games and ties. It's all a bit fuzzy now but didn't Leroy have a goal disallowed at Anfield and wasn't there a stonewall pen for us ignored. An away goal there would've changed a lot.

And then the disallowed goal just before HT at our place. 2-0 at HT with scenes of bedlam in the stadium. We'd have been big favourites to progress.

You need to re-read my original post. 5 blatant decision fuck-ups that if reversed would have swung the score by 5 goals => we win. Moreover, the complete atmosphere of the tie would have changed. Salah offside, Jesus disallowed, and Sterling penalty alone means we go to the Etihad 2-2. At home, we completely destroyed them in the 1H (even Klopp admits) and would have put them away there and then. And that's before Firmino should have seen red, and later scored a goal. It wouldnt have even been close.

I don't, because the word "IF" is the keyword. The facts are we didn't take our chances in either game, and over 2 legs we lost 5-1, anyway I'm done with the argument it has no bearing on tomo.... today.

We've destroyed every team that's had a proper go at us. And not just in Pep's time - it goes back to Roberto's time. We're just better at doing that now. Ordinarily, with us at full strength, Liverpool would be very wary of throwing wave after wave of attack at us. With us so weakened, will Liverpool be able to resist throwing men forward at us ? Will they be in two minds ? Come to think of it, Liverpool don't throw wave after wave of attacks at any team. Teams have missed a lot of straightforward chances against Liverpool this season - even Norwich. Sooner or later, we'll put our precision scoring boots on.

Get the ball to Sergio in a crowded box. Get Raheem running onto precision through balls. If he plays, get Walker overlapping - Robertson can't live with his pace. I'm happy for us to take risks in the game. We don't do cautious. Without doubt, we're going to have to experience some scary moments. But with half our first team missing, we should be relatively relaxed. I'd love to see Phil start - he'll be cool as you like, but I can only see that happening if he starts with Fernandinho at the back over Ota. The only more creative midfielder on the pitch than Phil would be Kevin.

That’s what we are saying, all we were left with was “ifs”.

forget every bent decision in the first leg & we finish first half of the 2nd leg 2:0 & it’s all to play for & there arse is twitching.

that’s why we don’t have those miracle stories like the dippers against Barca it was that fcking bent!
