A good week this week and we will be ONLY 2 POINTS behind.

A bad one and it’ll be 14 points and we could be 8th, with Forest leapfrogging us on Weds!!!

——————————Ederson

Walker-Akanji-Simpson Pussey-Dias-Ake-Gvardiol
——————————Stones
——————-KDB——————Foden
——————————Haaland

Dunno, a bit light at the back

Drop KDB and put Lewis to sit alongside Walker at the back

The old 8-1-1 that most visiting teams played against us when we were good.

Biggest, tallest, fastest, hungriest team we can field!

They are faster, generally bigger & taller, and don’t let many in while scoring for fun!

VVD, Nunez, and Gakpo are all dangerous in the air.

But, as I’ve said, 95 minutes like the first 75 minutes against Feyenoord and we will have nothing to fear. On the pre-match warm-up, the coaches should point up into the stands and show the defence where Row Z is near the halfway line, so they have something to aim at when needed!

If fit

Ederson
walker
Stones
Dias
Ake

Gundo
Foden
Kev

Berny
Haaland
Nunes

fullbacks are not permitted to go any further than own nown 25 yard line

The closer we get to the game the more I am convinced we’re not going to get battered.

Things never work out the way you expect in football.

It’ll be the usual turgid draw it often is at murderfield.

So a midfield 3 of Rico, Bernie and Gundo it is then.

Not true. Plenty of times things work out the way fans expect. People expect City to win the title, and City win the title. Of course, there are surprises and shocks. But most of the time the favourites win.

We have been poor recently, but also unlucky, failing to score from many good chances. If we are a bit lucky at Anfield, we can win. Might appear as a shock result, but luck plays a significant role in football. Convert 2-3 half-chances and we are likely to get a result.

You just spent two paragraphs going in circles and basically agreeing with me mate ;)

Hoping for the best but expecting the worst for this. If they play like they did against Spurs then we will get battered. Heart is saying we will do a typical City and go there and win but head is saying we'll probably get beat.

Regardless of current form let's get behind the lads when they need it. Worst case we could end up battling the rags for 12th place this season!

Not really :)

Your point: people expect us to lose but things in football never work out the way people expect, so we won't lose.

My point is quite different.

Anyway, hope you are right about the result, but not about the performance.

A good team defends and attacks as a whole. At least since 1970 :)

Also, we went all in vs Spurs and got smashed. We need to be pragmatic and solid at Anfield. A big loss is the last thing we need now.

KDB has been injured and isn't in his best form. That's why he's been on the bench for the last month or so. Precisely because we have problems in defence, we can't afford to carry half fit players at Anfield. Give him a start or two against lesser teams before throwing him against top teams.

I hope he is fit enough to start and play like his old self, but chances are he is isn't. If we need him, sub him on with 20 minutes to go and hope for the best.
If KDB isn't fit enough to play a role after 3 or 4 weeks sat on the bench serious questions need to be asked. If he can't make a contribution may it be time for him to move on in January? We are in bad need of a positive showing from him and hopefully this starts on Sunday. If not, sadly we may be witnessing the beginning of the end for Kev at City.

I wouldn’t be moving anyone out in January with the way our squad has been stretched this season. If anything we could do with bringing 1 or 2 in.

Not sure who the guy was selling "fake tickets". This Steve guy named himself "Big Steve", He has a YouTube channel and does podcasts with other YouTube idiots.

He does some work for City now, I have know idea exactly what work they give him, I know they sent him to Portman Road for interviews and also had him working before the Feyenoord game at home.

I suppose all these YouTubers like to see themselves as "the voice" of there own supporters for their clubs, Well I think that's what they like to think...

I've seen the odd video of his over the last few years that people have shared and some of them were pretty good.

The youtube thing has become massive and sky in particular seem determined to give them a platform. Its not my cup of tea. Couldn't really think of anything worse than watching a load of rival fans talk over each other about why their club is better than everyone else's, but each to their own.

As you mentioned, when these football influencer types are taking on these roles they are basically purporting to represent the fans. When actually they're just one person, with just as many if not more (from what I've seen in general) daft takes than the rest of us. Particularly frustrating when there's a fan debate and someone brings up the charges as the people making the accusations don't have a clue what they're talking about and whoever is fighting the City corner doesn't have the legal knowledge to understand our defence, so it makes the whole conversation a complete waste of time.

That's the thing, he hasn't started a game since September and Anfield is not the best place to give him more minutes. But I don't really know how fit he is, so let's see. We'll need him in December, though, he can be a difference maker in some games as long as he's fit enough. Obviously, we expect him to get fit. Time will tell.

Irrelevant of the result this game will show us & Pep who has the bollocks to be with us on the forward journey and who isn't arsed/have made their money etc.

I'm forever hopeful that even with all the medals they've won that they've got the hunger & professional pride to go again even though time isn't on the side of some of them.

Wow, possibly our best ever player and you'd boot him out mid season just because he, like most of the team, have been struggling.

Not ideal of course but I fear unless he gets back in the Grove soon his departure, highly likely in the summer anyway, might be brought forward. The next few weeks will tell a tale.

Kev came.on tuesday and made decent contributions and could have had a goal. He seemed well enough to warrant a start this weekend.

His appearance had fuck all to do with our defence caputulating, that was taking Ake and Gundo off.

If he has trained all weeek and is fit then he starts, he is till our best choice at creating chances.
