I’m trying to stay positive but what the fook is this starting 11. I love him but pep really is making it much harder unless non of them are fit

I’m so confused with this line up especially midfield. Jack, Kev, doku, savi all on bench is a bit crazy.

A 2024 midfield of De Jong Kompany Ireland and Elano would probably get in.
 
The midfield is the problem. No cover for the back four we don't have a ball winner in the middle. If we had a ball winner our defence record would be a lot better.
 
Think this could genuinely be 6-0 or 7-0 to Liverpool by the end. January still feels so far away. Can't see where a win is coming from in any of our games before Christmas.

He’s fit enough for 20 minutes due to his recent and career history of injuries and his age.

We can’t start him and take him off after 20 minutes, that would be daft.
 
Not loving that midfield selection. Like Gvardiol I thought Rico would be dropped to spare him as much as anything else. He’s looked leggy and jaded for a few weeks now.

Their midfield against ours looks like a physical mismatch. That said Gundo was better on Tuesday and Nunes needs to up his physical game - get snapping into a few tackles which hasn’t been his game to date tbf.

Need Walker to step up, happy with the rest of the back four. We also need to take more of the chances that come our way.

Bernie another who’s been out of form.

We don’t have our troubles to seek at the moment. Would bite your hand off for a backs to the wall display which gets us a point.
 
I may be laughed at here aswel, however…

I would have put Kevin in the 6 instead of Gundo.

We can’t pair Kevin with Gundo at the moment. It would be asking for trouble. We need legs surrounding either Kevin or Gundo.

All of them have been poor this season and kev hasn’t got the legs, none of them deserve to play.
 
Ederson and Gvardiol being dropped are good calls.

De Bruyne not starting is an odd one and outside of fitness the only reason I could think of was that he turns the ball over so often and we can't defend so would lead to countless counter attacks. Only fathomable reason.

Would have liked to see Savinho over Rico too.
