Only concern is Liverpool front players are on form & won’t miss as many chances as we do. We really need to control midfield to win this. If pep tries to go gung ho on the attack we will get caught out too many times.

I would sacrifice a striker for the first 60 mins put fern in & keep the ball & control midfield then hit them in the last 20 mins
we restricted chelsea to 0 shots on target , and then Psg to 3 . Hopefully wr'll restrict pool to under 3 shots on target , and unlike the Psg game we'll score some goals as I don't see Pool pull up the defensive heroics psg pulled on tuesday.

I assume Jesus and Foden will start, wonder about Grealish and Kevin.

We haven’t lost to Liverpool since 2019, it’s hardly like they have our number at the moment. Will be a tough game though and I would imagine they will go at the game with a lot more intent than what Chelsea did. Full backs have to be disciplined and not got give Salah and Mane a sniff. We have to forward players to peg their full backs in, just need to make sure we don’t end up on the receiving end of the 20 minutes blitz where they take the game away from the opposition.

I don't think we need to worry about Liverpool too much, we just have to go there and ensure we don't make silly mistakes. Nearly everytime we go to Anfield one of their midfield will drive forwards and bang one in from 30 yards. Or, if you remember back to the 4-3 game, we made mistake after mistake and gifted them three of their four goals.

There are still times when Cancelo will go for a little overlapping run but we'll lose the ball and on the counter we really do struggle to get men back and/or stop the opposition getting a shot away. Against Chelsea it helped that they had no real intent to go and score. Against PSG we were punished and in Salah/Mane Liverpool will do the same.

But if we press high up the pitch, dominate the ball and avoid passing it straight to them we'll win.

We actually won there last year with 44% possession which is quite ridiculous compared to our usual dominance. We played them at their own game and scored 4 goals from 5 shots on target despite no number 9. Not bad. Different game with fans back though. Apparently their fans are really good.

Keep Sterling away from this one

That's the number 1 priority
I can see Pep sticking with him and giving him another chance. Trouble is we all know what will happen, be like paying with 10 men, then it's game over. First half will be crucial to keeping them out. If we do I fancy us to win.
