Any result at Anfield will be the highlighght of the season for me.
I just hope Super Jack stands up and be counted.
I hope so too. He was found a bit wanting against their excellent full back last night, but then again he didn’t have much to aim for.

Foden and Jesus set the tone up front. Bernardo and Rodri follow it up.

You need all 4 for the kind of high pressing whirlwind that did for Chelsea.

The key for me to getting a result there is not conceding early like we usually do.

a) It allows us to build into the game
b) It causes anxiety amongst their crowd
c) We seldom come from behind to win games

If we keep it strong and steady we will get a result.

We're going to encounter the same problems against these than we did against PSG. We will create chances ( not many) but who is going to put them away? For me Ferran has to start in this one, we know he can score but it's his overall contribution which seems to be his undoing in Pep's eye I feel. Whether he'll get a go here is anybody's guess, but I would start him. At the other end Salah seems to be on fire for them, have to watch him very closely, same with Mane.
My team would be: Ederson, Walker, Cancelo, Laporte, Dias, Rodri, Foden, Bernardo, Grealish, Jesus, Torres

Subs: Steffen, Wilson-Esbrand, Stones, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Sterling, De Bruyne, Palmer, Lavia

Yo
I'd bloody love a result here, especially now with that twattish fanbase back in attendance.

I expect us to dominate posession, but for christs sake start Jesus and Foden and fuck Sterling off.
U know what mate, I'd rather Palmer or Mcatee come on from the bench now instead of Sterling. That's how far he's dropped

Hard game this one they come after a satisfying champions league victory while we come after a frustrating defeat. It is what it is, would hate for another defeat so Id settle for a draw

Liverpool set up differently to Chelsea. I expect Pep to set up differently as well.
Anyone calling for exactly the same set of players like the line we used against Chelsea still don't know Pep.

I think City are likely to be the better team at Anfield. The loss at PSG will help us to be more concentrated and disciplined. 4 days should be enough for recovery at this early stage of the season. Jesus and Foden will help us to be sharper in our pressing and attacking. Kevin can't play worse than in Paris, he will hit form soon.

Of course, Liverpool are still capable of great performances. They shouldn't be underestimated at all. But I doubt that they will have enough energy and consistency to challenge for the title. Time will tell.
Liverpool are more than capable of putting in top performances , there will be little in this game

It’s true Chelsea ‘set up’ differently, to liverpool. For starters, Chelsea don’t tend to organise coach welcomes do they?

But to your point, yep agree that Pep doesn’t often do what is ‘commonly expected’ when it comes to team selection.
