Not on at all if you ask me I'm sure they could move the Liverpool game to the Saturday but I couldn't see sky letting it happen at all.

Couldn't see another thread so mods merge if there is

Fortunately, given our squad depth and the fact Arsenal is in the Carling Cup, we can put 2 different sides out and still compete against each team. But as you say, still bang out really.

True it's a lot worse for the red bin dippers than us due to our squad. No wonder kenny's kicking off tho.

I think it's a sign re: how important the CC is viewed nowadays by everyone apart from TV and Carling. Most Clubs make wholesale changes, so tiredness isn't an issue. We'll most likely play a similar team to the Wolves match, and Arsenal will no doubt also play a completely different team to the previous week-end.

Personally, it wouldn't bother me one little bit if the CC was discontinued.
Having a Wembley Final held on a Sunday in the winter isn't great either.

Tell that to fans outside the top 6. Me personally, any final should be treated like how it was with the FA Cup.

Wenger will be absolutely desperate to win silverware even if its just the carling cup. He will delight in beating any City side even if it is our second team. We have not won at Arsenal for 36 years. Potentially there could be a very easy semi final with Cardiff playing Blackburn in another quarter final.
Dalgleish has been vociferous complaining about playing Chelsea away 48 hours after our game.

agree completely, money dictates the top teams, the CC is worth it for the fans of teams who are not wadded, same goes for the europa.

The report that I read claimed that City weren't too bothered about the 2 day gap.

Suggests to me that the CC really is low down in our priorities. I think Mancini is happy playing Liverpool on Sunday, to gain more rest time after the Napoli trip. And such is the desire to keep picking up league points he's more bothered about the team being fresh for the Norwich game than for Arsenal.

I think the CC is regarded as a good way of keeping fringe players matchfit and not much more. We dont want to get knocked out, because there's always a backlash after a cup exit. But there wouldnt be much shame losing at Arsenal playing a weakened side, two days after a trip to Anfield (provided we didnt also lose at Napoli and Liverpool, in which case it would be a mini crisis).
