A horse named Liverpool Striker was scratched from today's Port Augusta meeting saddle cloth number 10 (LOL).

Could be a good omen.

Everything depends on the first 15-20 minutes. If we can weather the initial period without conceding then I fancy us to win 0-1 or 1-2. If we do concede, then it will be a draw 2-2 would be my guess.

I can't see us losing the way we are playing. I trust in Pep doing his homework and the team executing his instructions to the letter.

Would love to put this Anfield hoodoo to rest, and a win today would be a(nother) huge statement from this team. Not the end of the world if we do finally get beat though, given our lead at the top.

Me neither, we are an exceptionally difficult team to beat because we are limiting teams to very few chances each game, as with last season, but have a world class keeper behind an improved defence to make sure said chances come to little.

History is history. This season, on current form, the dippers aren't anywhere near our level and we should be looking for three points again here.

It's time we stop dreading going to Anfield and they start dreading us coming to town instead. We are making history this season, if there was ever a time to break this hoodoo it's now.

I just can’t see a midfield they can play that doesn’t give Fernandinho, Silva and De Bruyne some joy. They can argue all day how good Mane, Firmino and Salah are, but we can match that without blinking with Sane, Aguero and Sterling. We should create far more chances if the midfield wins the battle as it should, and that’s what’s giving my confidence. That midfield 3 have stepped up in every big game so far this season, they are big players for big occasions.

At the back we’ll be no longer with Mangala and Otamendi, Stones, Walker and Delph will finally be back together. The same back four that’s largely only conceded 13 goals all season, in 22 games. Big man in the sticks picks himself, and should be able to sweep up any balls over the top.

I actually think we are playing them at the perfect time. Just before VVD has had chance to fully settle too - he had an excellent debut but today is his first test. Good luck.
