according to Wright, Salah ripped us to pieces and we won 4 nil, and its a good time to sell Phil. Have they borrowed Rolf's brushes to airbrush us out of the game.

Intimidating place to go. The refs even cack it. Would be delighted with a draw.

I really don't think it's intimidating at all which makes it even stranger given our horrific record. Last couple time I went its been like a morgue, their atmosphere is a complete myth.

Not if that new song from a few pages back takes off, especially if all the scousers bring an old water bottle filled with sand with them as well. It could be really intimidating imo.

First time I’ve clicked the lose button all season. Just got a bad feeling about this one.
Think we are a bit leggy and the extra game this week won’t have helped. They’ve had all week to get prepared too. Will be gutting if these twats do end the undefeated streak though.
I can honestly say that I won't be gutted if we lose and are ONLY 12 points ahead with 15 games remaining. Unbeaten streaks are not something to get down about when they finally end, missing out narrowly on titles and trophies - THAT would be gutting.

This for me, this is my 58th year following city, I have seen us win at Anfield 3 times in all that time. I have always felt that the day we could go to Anfield as favourites and then turn them over would be a sign we could win the European Cup. Heres hoping.
Have we really only won there 3 times during the last 58 attempts??!!

No way I remember how they treated Sterling and over the years strut around like peacock along with that other red team. I don't even wanna lose a game of fifa video game to them. I don't care if we lose to mickey mouse united just none of those darn red teams.

I’m sick of this argument.

He got in behind Mendy and Nico a few times and had a couple of good chances, but st the end of the day he did not score and also many forget we were 1-0 up before that sending off.

I might have even made a mistake and we have only won twice there in league games, but some of the intervening seasons we were in a lower division to them and obviously didnt play them. Weve never had any luck whatsoever at Anfield, I think the year after we won the league in the late sixties Francis Lee scored a "goal" but the ball rebounded of the inner stanchion and the ref just allowed play on I think we got a draw that day.

The one thing I think we have this year is mental strength. Our team doesn't stop and we seem to really raise our game when required. Napoli and Chelsea away as prime examples.

I remember going there in 1969 with a scouce workmate. We were winning 2-1 with a couple of minutes to go. We gave away a corner needlessly that they scored from. And then from the kick-off they won possession, raced down the field and scored their third and winning goal. I was gutted, my mate admitted that they were bloody lucky as we were the much better team.As a scoucer he was a decent bloke surprisingly.

What are you on about? It's all about opinions and if you check history..we don't really do well at anfield.

City are literally the best team in the history of English top flight football. Flapping is ridiculous enough but all of the doomsday preachers are even more ridiculous.

We are a vastly superior side to the dippers in every category. Their midfielders put together can't lace KDB's boots and their back line remains a shambles. Given our strengths, I think it's highly unlikely our unbeaten run isn't maintained here.

With their attacking prowess, we need our best defenders on the pitch, and, on their game.
PEPs dilemma.
With their pace up front, they're likely to earn free kicks and corners.
Van Dijk is going to be a massive threat at set pieces.
If Kompany is fit, should he start on Sunday in place of Stones, who doesn't look to be back in his groove yet?
But then, if he does, what is the risk that he pulls up after 2 minutes leaving us all shaking our heads?
Your call Pep.

Wow first time I've thought of it as a one point per game lead with only 15 games left......really shows how far ahead of the rest we are and I don't mean just in points.

If both teams play their best, we win. If either team has an off day, they lose. The teams are well matched: both attacking teams with weaker defenses than attacks. Given that, this may be a game that midfield wins. If so, we win, because we have the best midfield in the League.

Some teams provide a greater challenge to us than others, even though they may not be considered the next best team in the League, and they are on as good of a run as we are over the last five games, and have players coming back from injury and no midweek game. This game may prove to be a touchstone game for the rest of the season...win and the 15pts starts to look bigger and bigger given the end of the season getting closer and closer, whereas a loss gives them a fillip and the rest of the chasers a 20% smaller gap.

I’d be very happy not to lose, but I have us down for a win. The players know this is a BIG game and possibly a big step towards one of their ultimate goals this season. If we can put out a full strength team (Mendy and Jesus obviously not included), there is absolutely no reason why we can’t win at their place for a change. However, a loss isn’t the end of the world for us, but a loss for them has a significantly greater negative effect on their aspiratioms.
