Kirkdale station is about 20 mins walk away,you can get a train at 17.57 gets you in lime street for 18.18 (with a change) it is an option but i would leave a bit early and chance a taxi.

always start walking away from ground to city centre then catch a bus, but kirkdale station is a good option if you know your way around

Does your 6.30 train from Lime St go via Liverpool South Parkway?
You could get a northern line train from Sandhills Station (10/15 min walk from Anfield or the "soccerbus" drops off there) to South Parkway.

Do,s ur trip say any "route "on ur ticket? if so get a train 2 leeds(york,midddlesboro,newcastle) via M,cr and jump on train from leeds to edinbrugh(i think last train out of leeds is9.00p.m

Don't swet the 18.31 as there's also the 19:23 from Slime street - Ed Wav also stoppin at Wigan NW bout 5-8 gets you in bout 20 past sunday via a change at Queen street Glasgow 23.33

Have you seen where the soccerbuses leave from? Seen Taxis there too.

I would leave on 87 mins and leg it down there, it is not too busy into town.
