Liverpool bus damaged on journey back from Etihad Stadium today

I think that is complete horseshit. That you frankly have no right to claim.

I agree the song is 'accepted' as being 'associated with' Hillsborough, for reasons already noted. And that that may make it arguably inappropriate, I've had no issue with the club statement.

But to argue people are hiding behind it to openly sing about tragedy is one fucking perverse take, no matter how self righteous you might feel. That's a shocking take, in fact. For fans of any football club.

Why sing it then? If you accept it's associated with Hillsborough and you know it causes controversy every time it's sung, and you know the club will have to apologise, and the fans will be condemned for it, then why that song?

Now you know why I have him on ignore.

I imagine 99% of football fans read a newspaper or watch the TV news, which means they were aware of the massive row that blew up following the publishing of that article and Johnson's words blaming Liverpudlians for Hillsborough.

I don’t think that many would attribute it to that, I don’t & I find it hard to imagine another 99% would.

I imagine very much like Dippers coming up with very different reasons for booing & protests against government or the establishment including pro terrorist organisations, City & opposing fans would all give opposing views on why they believe singing victims is important to them.

In my opinion it’s valid & not “tragedy chanting” but absolute disgust at their attitude. Every time they complain they make it more valid. Others may have different reasons but to me it has fuck all to do with the oaf Boris & more to do with jack straw.

No one is disagreeing with that, but the song is linked to Hillsborough and sending me a bunch of abuse for pointing that out doesn't change that fact. You can't retroactively decide a song that's been linked to Hillsborough for 11 years suddenly has nothing to do with Hillsborough.
Who has said it’s been linked to Hillsborough? The only people who think that are those with the dipper mentality, those who pander to them in the media, and those who are gullibly taken in by those 2 parties. It’s about the despicable behaviour by their fans over the decades and their complete lack of accountability. The timing is absolutely irrelevant, other than they have been unaccountable for their appalling behaviour for decades. As for personal abuse, I didn’t abuse you, I did point out that I don’t think you get to many or any games as you have a complete lack of empathy with City fans and how we feel about the treatment dished out to us by liverpool and the media. As for your PM to me accusing me of abusing you I’ve answered that here

If you don't think that some (even if only one) aren't openly grinning while singing it knowing how it will affect some opposition fans, then you have a much more cheery outlook on human nature than I do.

People decry Liverpool fans for being opposed to the victims chant while continuing to sing it. If we stopped singing it that would take ammunition away from them. Surely that is a better outcome for all?

Not every match but once or twice a season. Mainly because 95% of their fans think it's racist and don't like it.

Have you ever watched City at spurs or at home to spurs? I wouldn’t be able to prove this but to say that only 5% of the spurs fans home or away sung that song is a bigger distortion of the real number than some of our attendances under Peter Swales

It is linked to Hillsborough whether you like it or not, and has been for over a decade, long before it got widely picked up by City fans.

You can continue to call MCFC, the Premier League, the FA and every other club people who have "dipper mentality" but that isn't going to change reality that it is linked.

It's also bizarre that you claim to know the intent behind a song you openly admit was picked up off United fans after they'd been criticised for using it because of its links to Hillsborough for years.

As for personal abuse, I didn’t abuse you
