It’s different mentalities. If a City fan had done this, City would have actively worked to find who did it to hold them accountable. Additionally, most City fans would have spoken out against it and maybe even provided witness accounts to help the club find who did it. Liverpool have a different mentality, their first thought is to look after their own and to hell with what’s right and wrong. This feeds down into their fans who think they are untouchable. This is on the club and it feels like they look at the outcome of the incident to determine what they are going to do about it. Nobody hurt/injured = do fuck all.
At some point, someone will end up seriously hurt (or worse) and Liverpool will say there was nothing they could have done, ignoring the fact that they are the ones that have given their fans this sense of invincibility.
