So in reality it takes the same effort, the league cup may be harder as you potential play more games, have to squeeze it in midweek and play home and away in the semi final. A trophy is a trophy and I'll take them all.

They’d love to be kicked out. They could indulge in their favourite pastime of playing the victim, whilst telling everyone they would have won it but they don’t care because it’s a Mickey Mouse competition.
They probably played him on purpose so that they would get kicked out as that would suit their game management plan to a tee and allow them to be the victim at the same time.
