Liverpool FA Cup s/f (N) | Post Match Thread

Some boring twat actually shusshed me at Wembley a few years ago. The Liverpool league cup final i think.

I was swearing too much in front of his kid apparently, lol.
you should of quoted Unwritten rules of football section XI answer II

I. Manchester United supporters are permitted to storm a ground of their choice, assault anyone in sight and get the fixture abandoned, but only on the instruction of their noble overlord Gareth Neville

II. Children under the age of 16 are permitted to swear at football matches whilst foaming from their mouth like a rabid dog

III. All Liverpool players are permitted to use a one or two handed push in aid of winning a football match under association rules

VI. Uefa are permitted to ban Manchester City supporters from a game of their choice should the opposing teams supporters commit racist acts

Cracking post, completely agree, you’d think a Gooner would have more to worry about, like £72m Pepe, £57m Aubmeyang, £50m Lacazette, £52m White, £45m Partey and £40m Xakah amongst others, none of who have been qualified successes and have brought home 1 FA Cup in the past 6 seasons.

They all want to worry about their own clubs failings, we are more than happy with our club and don't need their views on ourselves. It's jealousy because little City have put their self entitled noses out of joint and upset their cosy little cartel. We are the most successful domestic club in the last ten years and whatever the mud slingers want to say all won fairly and squarely operating under the same rules as everybody else, as proven in a court of law. Fuck them.

I remember supporters having a go at Caballero, back in the day, but his penalty saves won us a trophy.
Ok, Steffen made a careless error but don't hang him for it.
Their first goal should have been scrutinised by var. Steffen, from his position, saw the flight of the ball from the corner and imo he believed it had gone out of play, his belief reinforced by one of our players (Bernardo?) raising his arm trying to draw the referees' attention to the fact. This would explain his lack of commitment to try and make a save. Steffen would also have been aware of the foul (heavy push) on Grealish. Either of these incidents could/should have resulted in their first goal being disallowed.
Jesus and Sterling both missed good chances too, so have a go at Zack if you must, but it wasn't all down to him that we lost.
As for the supporters who made the effort to get to Wembley for the match take pride in the fact that you were part of the occasion and the result, whilst disappointing, wasn't the end of the world really.
How many supporters of other clubs would have given their right arms to have seen their team play at Wembley, win or lose?

Don't know why VVD's push on Grealish wasn't a foul. It was blatant.

Pep has always had the rolls royce on call. Whether is was inheriting that ridiculous core of Messi, Xavi, Iniesta at Barcelona, to the unprecedented power of the single club league in Germany, to his ability at Man City to activate any release clause he wants. Pep has never never known struggle. That's the biggest criticism of Pep, and its valid.

Granted Pep knows how to get a team playing elite level football. But if you gave Pep and Klopp 100m to build up a squad over three years. After those three years, I think I know which team would be at a higher level
I would have thought you would be on your own forum concerned about your teams fall away.

Said it at the time that a push on Jackie sent him flying into Jesus. Blatant push which had it been anywhere else would have resulted in a foul. Can’t tell if ball went out of play although Stones raises his hand suggesting he thought it had. Surely VAR would have checked if it had although it didn’t bother with the foul. But, and this backs up my theory that we weren’t that bothered yesterday, nobody go rushing to the ref suggesting there had been a foul. Can you imagine Atletico accepting the goal.
Can any of our friendly Scousers also comment on why their end was overcrowded. No aisles to be seen on bottom tier and parts of the top. Surely they didn’t double up at the turnstiles or used forged tickets did they? Calling @LGWIO to the thread

Knee jerk rubbish after 2nd loss in 20 odd games. Sane and Torres both wanted to leave and we don't just sign players to make up the numbers.

BTW nice deflection about Rodri, you couldn't get a name because there isn't a better option.

It isnt knee jerk. At the business end of the season not having those options has hindered us.

I remain sceptical that there wasn't a more mobile defensive midfielder that could be found.

Awful support from us yesterday. We may have sold 32k but there must have been thousands of Liverpool fans in our end. The booing of the minutes silence was weird too and it’s not like our fans to do something like that. It may have been the case that some people were genuinely unaware of the minutes silence. Fights all over between City fans, Liverpool fans in our end getting a kicking. Just not a nice day out.

The FA should seriously think about start putting these semis back to neutral grounds. I’ve been to Wembley to watch City we over 10 times now and I’m actually not arsed we’re not going back next month. Costs a fortune, shit getting to London and all you see is fighting as people spend all day pissed up which only leads to one thing.
