Liverpool FA Cup s/f (N) | Post Match Thread

Wasn't the anniversary on Friday? They should have done something at Anfield and left it at that. I'm not saying this out of disrespect, I worked in Liverpool at the time and was at our game at Blackburn when it happened. I saw how it moved the whole City and it was a tragedy that has helped football fans in this country get the facilities they deserve. And changed the way we were treated by the authorities at the time.
I was at Blackburn that day (beaten 4-0, Colin Hendry played for them) and we heard there were injuries, soon escalated.

Tell him his maths is way off. We actually had our allocation increased from 34k to 36k, and while we didn’t sell them all we probably had around 31.5k-32k so around 2000-2500 unsold out of the original allocation.
Interesting how many dippers were going to Southbound destinations from Wembley Stadium post match. Had the misfortune to be queuing with thousands of them afterwards and foreign and cockney accents galore

Chelsea are playing largely the same team as last Tuesday and they look rather flat and lethargic against Palace. City were up against a side which bases its game on winning the ball back high up. They found this possible yesterday because Thiago, Fabinho and Keita who had been run out of the game last week were never really challenged yesterday. The two fullbacks were able to plat high up and get back with relative ease if/when necessary. Funnily enough Chelsea seem more lively now we are in the second half.

What team would you have put out then all things considered to win it then. You was wasted selling carpets, you should have sent your CV in.
i would have played more kids tbh. i want the title .

Yes it was Friday and they did hold a service at anfield.
You can also bet your last custard cream they will do another on Tuesday night.
It’s all about glorifying it like the rags do with Munich.
The authorities let them both get away with it whilst heysel, Bradford etc etc are left to a back seat.

Haha. Now that would have been throwing the game.
Defo stick to your PlayStation games and leave the real team selections to the professional.

I always believe that you should respect victims of tragedies and observe moments of silence impeccably. But when one of the opposition banners reads "Manc Scum" as it did at half-time yesterday, then it is harmful any claims they might have to moral righteousness.

Remember it vividly. Word was going around the crowd at Ewood all day. Back then your only news source were blokes with radios. It went from “injuries” to “10 dead” to “20 dead” etc. My dad drove me home after the game and we sat in total silence listening to the radio as the death toll mounted. It was surreal.
