Liverpool Game Reactions

I don't know how people can blame the manager on poor first touches and player giveaways; that's up to the players. Throughout the game we were very organized and Liverpool hardly threatened. Balance was perfect. Can you blame Mancini for Ireland turning the wrong way in the box? No. Can you blame Mancini for Ade being thrown to the ground on the free kick? No.

Mancini is the last person I blame this dropping of points on.

We might be very organised, which is a good thing, but it has come at the expense of almost all creative flair in the team. We had one shot on target today (Which came from a handball when Adebayor chested it down). The bottom line in football is that to win you have to score goals. You don't win games solely by stopping the other team scoring goals.

We are sunk if Mancini says that we are a team waiting to gel..............Lol

I cant defend the negativity of the play and I simply can't understand the NDJ and GB partnership in the middle of the park, simply too defensive and very much too slow.

With that pairing we wont break in numbers, at speed or push out quick enough.

I feel that a more positive MF player and the shape will be good.

Deep sigh!

get barry playing the CM role instead of playing alongside NDJ, might see some of his form of old if we do this

very negative, but it is nice to see us solid, but think Mancini has gone overboard with the defensive look. i dont think we played too bad, back 4 were terrific, especially Lescott, Vince & Zab. De Jong played brill too. Nxt wk will be mega tough, Lpool have Bburn at home so they have 3pts, Villa not playing, Spuds have Everton at home which means they could drop pts.

• Adebayor looked good early on, holding the ball up well and making positive runs. Then he remembered he was Adebayor.
• Gareth Barry is useless. He came here for the money and it shows in his game. What a useless acquisition he really was.
• The defense was much improved today. We talk about Liverpool creating no chances but that's mainly because of the high line we played. Touré goes out and we keep our shape... Coincidence? I think not sadly.
• Mascherano is a silly twat. Should have been off three or four times this afternoon.
• They should have had a penalty though, so it's all good.
• In the summer, we should get a proper right-back. I like Zabaleta but his ability to pass the ball forwards and find a man in a blue shirt is very much in question.
• Robinho would have ran rings around Carragher this afternoon.
• Mancini needs to learn that we don't want to see the kids. Boyata and Ibrahim are nothing special and should be left on the bench at best.
• Martin Skrtel was really good for Liverpool this afternoon. I thought he'd be a weak link but he was solid as you like.
• Tottenham? Fucking wankers.

That is all.

Survival is the mind set. When Torres was in Mancini introduced Ibrahim to defend from the front.

It was strange but Ade played well alone and so did Tevez. Maybe we don't need two strikers?

Mancini on the game: "Every time we don't win a game I am disappointed, but both teams defended very well and a draw was a fair result in the end. It's probably a better result for us than for them."

He really is shaping up to be a right clueless tit in the post-match interviews.

First off, if that's a Premier League referee then I'm reffing the World Cup Final.

At the beginning of the day I would have taken a point. Outside of the first ten minutes or so we were far and away the more dangerous side, but we didn't create anything. We really missed Tevez. If we had Tevez we would have one this game.

I thought our defense was very well organized, I really never got nervous after the slew of corners they had in the first 10 minutes. Zabbaleta was my MOTM, excellent and timely tackles and good bringing the ball out of the defense. Adebayor had a really good game as well, but with very little support. His hold-up play and ability to touch the ball of to someone coming through was very good. He looked up for the game, which is more than can be said on a number of occasions this season. I don't know why Ibrahim got on the field, that was a strange one. Johnson continues to impress, though for the love of God he has to work on his corners and free kicks. I don't know how many times they didn't beat the first man.

All in all a decent day. Our record against the "Top 4" this year including the Cups is 4-2-2. If we play like this with Tevez back we should make a serious serious fight for that 4th spot.

i see nothing wrong with that. Neither side deserved to win so draw was fair, they are 2 points off us and we have game in hand. this was must win for them, not us

Disagree with all of them. Hell, YOU might not want to see the kids, but I certainly do. I was really excited when Ibrahim came on, and he did okay. It's funny that you have made the decision that Ibrahim is 'nothing special', when he's played one game and one sub appearance. Oh apparently the same Boyata that kept the best striker in the world, at the top of his form, completely in his pocket is also shit?

This attitude, and sacrificing tomorrow for the moment is the exact attitude I was talking about in the Mancini thread when I mentioned that some City fans are becoming like spoilt children.
