The World Cup's like a bad dream & tonight I finally woke up from it!
What a brilliant start to the mid-season restart! In the first 20 minutes we were industrious, adventurous, dare I say imperious? We absolutely steamrollered the Dippers, but I always felt they had the ability to get back into the game on the break.
This was Akanji's worst game for us, especially the first 30 minutes. He settled down after that, but his shakiness seemed to effect those around him.
KDB was out of this world & Gundog wasn't too far behind him. It was like a proper end to end basketball game that both sides were desperate to win.
Credit to the Dippers to keep coming back into it & making it a gripping game. The Mahrez goal was absolutely special & it was great to see him on the scoresheet, albeit he seems a world away from the form he's shown in the previous two seasons.
My MoTM goes to Lewis. What a Right Back star this boy's hopefully going to be. He's rapidly developing as a footballing defender & didn't look out of place in central midfield either.
A brilliant display & a great way to resume the season. Roll on Leeds!
